When I saw the new promo card, Garden of Omens
, I immediately thought of old-school FTP Moment of Creation decks and wanted to see if this new card gave it a bit more power in the current meta. I've been having some great success with it in Master's this month (last 20 games I've run 14-6 and I've been hovering between 60-75% win rate previously).
Play lots of spells to cycle cards through your hand and slow up your opponent until your Moment golems can get big enough to kill them the next turn.
Start with at least one of each influence in hand if possible, then TP for Equivocate
, then PP for Hailstorm
and Wisdom of the Elders
, then TT for Saber-Tooth Prideleader
. T3 is crucial in this deck, so try as hard as you can to have 3 undepleted power for a Wisdom or Hailstorm.
Market Choices: Calderan Cradle
: ‘cause we got a lot of spells and all the cool kids are doing it!
: I usually only grab this to stop Vara, Vengeance-Seeker
, letting her grow to a 5/5 and grabbing this next turn, but it can be good against aggro archetypes.
: Usually your first market grab. Don't be afraid to use it without its Onslaught ability because it moves your game plan forward and can give you a lot of insight on what cards to hold up for later.
: Our defense against aggro. You can go all the way from a single copy like this to Jenner Merchant for copies 5-8 if you’re facing a ton of aggro.
: You're probably going to grab this after your first or second Moment of Creation
Using Resurface with Garden of Omens
: This spell is extremely strong when tacked onto a site. I've added a single copy of End of Hostilities
which you can immediately pull and play since it has Warp and a single copy of Channel the Tempest
to deal some damage and refill your hand. Obviously you can pull Moment of Creation
as your first site choice and play it the next turn as the site reduces the cost by 1. What other flex cards do you think would be good to pull to the front of your deck on-demand? Let me know in the comments!
