Information

When I saw the new promo card, Garden of Omens, I immediately thought of old-school FTP Moment of Creation decks and wanted to see if this new card gave it a bit more power in the current meta. I've been having some great success with it in Master's this month (last 20 games I've run 14-6 and I've been hovering between 60-75% win rate previously).

Gameplan: Play lots of spells to cycle cards through your hand and slow up your opponent until your Moment golems can get big enough to kill them the next turn.

Influence: Start with at least one of each influence in hand if possible, then TP for Equivocate, then PP for Hailstorm and Wisdom of the Elders, then TT for Saber-Tooth Prideleader. T3 is crucial in this deck, so try as hard as you can to have 3 undepleted power for a Wisdom or Hailstorm.

Market Choices:
Calderan Cradle: ‘cause we got a lot of spells and all the cool kids are doing it!
Permafrost: I usually only grab this to stop Vara, Vengeance-Seeker, letting her grow to a 5/5 and grabbing this next turn, but it can be good against aggro archetypes.
Royal Decree: Usually your first market grab. Don't be afraid to use it without its Onslaught ability because it moves your game plan forward and can give you a lot of insight on what cards to hold up for later.
Hailstorm: Our defense against aggro. You can go all the way from a single copy like this to Jenner Merchant for copies 5-8 if you’re facing a ton of aggro.
Mokhnati, Restored: You're probably going to grab this after your first or second Moment of Creation to refill.

Using Resurface with Garden of Omens: This spell is extremely strong when tacked onto a site. I've added a single copy of End of Hostilities which you can immediately pull and play since it has Warp and a single copy of Channel the Tempest to deal some damage and refill your hand. Obviously you can pull Moment of Creation as your first site choice and play it the next turn as the site reduces the cost by 1. What other flex cards do you think would be good to pull to the front of your deck on-demand? Let me know in the comments!

Suggestion: Diogo Malaga, Elonze in the Market?

It makes a really nice curve with t3 Smuggler to grab him, t5 Garden cast Resurface, t6 Amplify Diogo once to make that spell Destiny. Being able to set up a free Channel or Moment should be back-breaking, right?

You could even add in more copies of the FP or FT smuggler to make that line more likely.
Nazanir Eternal Version: 1.46.10
I feel like you are making a critical thinking error here (I could be wrong though, so please correct me if I am).

But if you resurface a spell on turn 5 with Garden, then you'll draw it turn 6 at the start of your turn. Meaning that you can't capitalize on Diogo when you do so.
TheL0rd0fSpace Eternal Version: 1.46.10
You don't resurface on 5. You cast Melt Down or Ice Bolt on 5, then if your site survives, on 6 you Resurface and cast Diogo.

Now, you have a Moment or Channel with Destiny, and can Re-Read it, if you're running that.
Nazanir Eternal Version: 1.46.10
You are absolutely right, I indeed had a thinking error.

I am for sure going to try Diogo in the deck.
BarnacleEd Eternal Version: 1.46.9
Yeah this deck 110% wants Elonze. Giving Destiny to MoC or EoH while its on top of your deck thanks to Gardens (then re-reading the big spell later) is an absolute backbreaker.
PremiumAlex Eternal Version: 1.46.10
Great idea. I'm actually playing around with 4 Diogos with one in the market right now and it's feeling really strong. Stay tuned.
Nazanir Eternal Version: 1.46.9
Personally I'd ditch Wisdom for Strategize. Should you end up with an early Moment you can just put it back in your deck and use Resurface just to get it back.
abby315 Edited Eternal Version: 1.46.9
You don't find yourself wanting Strategize to chuck back some of the situational spells or a too-early Moment? It might be better than Honor of Claws - the discard might help you get 1 more spell in the GY, but most of your spells are better off being cast. And shuffling spells back into the deck can be helpful with Resurface. I'd try it out but I never crafted Moments and now I'm too dust-broke :( Looks like a fun deck though!!
PremiumAlex Eternal Version: 1.46.10
Yeah, I almost never want to discard a card and I like your thoughts so I think Strategize/Wisdom is better than Wisdom/Claws.

I made a similar list before Garden of Omens was announced and yes, that card is awesome in a FTP Moment deck. I also play Calderan Cradle. If someone is interested here's my deck LINK.
Anyway, great deck. HotV is really good, I might decide to add it in my list.
ElderGnome Eternal Version: 1.46.9
tp? tt? t3? pp? da faq?
PremiumAlex Eternal Version: 1.46.10
Sometimes I can get lost in the lingo! T3 refers to turn 3, while the others refer to the influence you would want to prioritize. TP means one Time and one Primal influence, TT means two Time influence, and PP means two Primal influence.
ElderGnome Eternal Version: 1.46.10
ok ty ;)
JTJag Eternal Version: 1.46.9
If you wanted to stick a couple Curiox in this deck for the Garden value, what would you cut?
PremiumAlex Edited Eternal Version: 1.46.9
Assuming the Elysian Curiox? I probably wouldn’t include as we aren’t hurting for card draw but maybe a HotV? Also a 6/6 that generates card value
OneAntic Eternal Version: 1.46.9
How about a single savage denial? If you're against Jennev Peaks or any deck with negates, it gets hard to cast moment sometimes. Too cute?
PremiumAlex Eternal Version: 1.46.9
I like it. What do you think should be cut for it?
OneAntic Eternal Version: 1.46.9
Definitely a piece of top-end, this deck is in no danger of getting out-valued. I've yet to fetch Mokhnati from the market, so it could possibly take his spot there.
SilentNSly Eternal Version: 1.46.9
Why not run four Cradel(s) in the deck?

There should be a lot of 1-of spells in the deck since you can Resurface them.

One each of Purify, Passage of Eons (if Meltdown is not enough), Flameblast, etc.
PremiumAlex Eternal Version: 1.46.9
You know, I tried a couple of cradles and they just sat in my hand. This deck focuses less on spell cycling and more on grinding out matches and consistently removing/negating threats until it’s time to drop the Moment. If you wanted to go Cradle, I would cut Display, Channel, End of Hostilities, and Moment of Creation and swap in small fast spells like lightning strike, trailblaze, etc.
