I had a very difficult time trying to find a place for
Scrapfind Skimmer. Let's face it, this is not a good card. It's too expensive to fit in an Elysian Flyers deck, has trouble standing on its own as a unit even with Regen, and isn't a good enough tool for Reanimator decks to justify its cost. So after some soul-searching (and collaboration with Reddit folks) I was turned onto a deck that came completely out of left-field. There is one deck that is uniquely suited to get the clunky Skimmer out early enough to matter that also has a desire to fill the void:
Unlock the Vault.
This deck is a modified version of an early Bastion Rising build that focused on
Okessa Málaga and
Unlock the Vault. That deck was only two factions, so I had to make some cuts to tune it for Primal at enough of a rate to justify having the Skimmer. There are also some tools in Primal that will help towards our goal of filling the void with scrap to cheat out, such as
Master Conjurer and
Forbidden Research, while
Learned Herbalist,
Ancestral Oasis, and
Calibrate will help us ramp a little.
Scrapfind Skimmer should be sending everything to the void, hopefully leaving a copy of
Unlock the Vault on top to play the next turn.
Okessa Málaga in the market will help us cheat out relics when we can't find Unlock the Vault, or if it's been unhappily sent to the void with our other cards.
Cirso, the Great Glutton helps us get out of unit-based jams, and
Shatterglass Mage deals with troublesome relics.
Grodov's Burden is pure gravy (and as a bonus, deals with
Massive Greatsword).
(The current version uses 3 because that's what everyone should have right now. I'll update the list after I get tomorrow's promo and figure out what to cut. Probably a market card. 7 should be plenty)
