Updated: TotesOlive played with this deck on her stream, and she made a few edits, which improved the deck. So I updated this list to show the improvements she made.
This is a mono-time deck that utilizes
Evenhanded Golem in order to access powerful draw, which is something that mono-time lacks generally. Since it's a mono deck, it also uses the Seal of Devotion.
The focus of this version is to get down an Armadillo or Living Example on turn 2 (or a Teacher on turn 2) and then use card draw (from teacher or from a golem) to immediately get some buffed things. Mercenary also draws a card when played, so his card could also get buffed, depending. The main goal of the deck is to get big things and hit the opponent with them. It is very
tempo-oriented, so you have to play for tempo, not for value.
Next, we have to talk about removal. Temple Standard is VERY good tempo removal. You know that Palace that just came down? Oh no! The unit will get Withstand! Actually, it won't, because we just bounced it back to their hand. Aww, Snap! The only other removal available to mono-time is killer, so that's why we have four Xenan Initiation, and two Thrashing Dune Wurm. The bounces count as extra removal, which is definitely needed in this meta. Oh! And the Temple Tactic can be used to save your own guys as well. Especially Cykalis. Or SST.
So yeah, the deck is a bit weak against controlly stuff, but it definitely has the ability to hang in there, even against control. You do have to anticipate the board clears and hold back some threats for after they wipe the board.
Kinda fun, definitely different. Surprises the crap outta people. So satisfying and hilarious when your masters-tier opponent has to mouse over your cards and read them. Current winrate is something around 55-60% at masters level. Not really keeping track, but it has won more than it has lost.
