Edit: Updated the powerbase to include Crest of Wisdom, cutting 3 Elysian Banner (Crest is strictly better turn 1), and cut Diplomatic Seal to run Amber Waystone and keep enough sigils for Seat of Wisdom. Ended up cutting 1 Seat to keep 1 Banner, for a 3-1 split as Seat is better early game but Banner is better late trying to top deck undepleted power for Carnosaur for example. Also cut the 1-of Clutchkeeper for a Xenan Obelisk.
This is a mid-late game focused "Casual Competitive" Dinosaur deck. The early game plan is to ramp with
Trail Maker and
Avirax Familiar, and stabilize against aggro with
Scaly Gruan and
Permafrost.
If you can survive long enough to attack with
Worldbearer Behemoth or play it and use killer in the same turn with
Twilight Hunt you are likely winning the game. In testing, every game where I was able to attack with Worldbearer Behemoth I won (killer triggers the power ramp ability).
Aggro matchups absolutely punish this deck, to the point where it might be correct to opt for
Lunar Magus at 3 drop, despite having no synergy with the deck.
Dilphex Stalker is quite effective, but only following a turn 2
Evelina, Valley Searcher. The card is a definite flex slot.
The other flex slots are 2
Serasaur Bull, 1
Clutchkeeper, 2
Strategize and 2
Unseal. You could certainly cut some of these to tech for aggro with a card like
Lightning Strike.
We run a lot of high cost cards, and I found that the 2
Strategize are invaluable at helping to keep a functional hand if you draw the high cost Dinosaurs too soon. At 2 cost, it is much more reasonable for a midrange deck than a card like
Wisdom of the Elders.
Unseal is included as a 2 of to give us a chance against Harsh Rule decks.
One nice strength of this deck is a very consistent powerbase between the new
Common Cause and
Trail Maker.
Let me know if you have any questions!
