Information

Deck is pretty straight forward, Azindel, Revealed gave added payoff to xenan in the form of a must answer card that leaves incredibly obnoxious blockers or stall breakers for midrange decks to deal with, while Vara, Vengeance-Seeker is just another incredibly strong 4 drop to go alongside SST, Tome of Repetition lets us skip from 6 to 8 power for obelisk or azindel and works to trigger interrogator.
The aggro matchup is dictated by drawing Ayan, the Abductor, in which case it is HEAVILY in the deck's favour, while this seems to wreck other midrange decks, all in all, the counter to this deck is good old harsh rule as expected.

All in all the only fundamental parts of the deck are the incredibly strong 4 drops and top end in Azindel.

Some considerations:
Mystic Ascendant: Way greedier 6 drop than Champion of Mystery, but will provide you with even more late game potential and has the obvious synergy with both worldbearer and tome.

Predatory Carnosaur: Probably better than Champion of Mystery in a scenario where Icaria decks run rampant (although the deck doesn't usually struggle with those, as so many of your units with xenan initiation deal with her and Azindel himself can turn her warcries against her. I have also been thinking about altogether removing the card from the market, as I only remember pulling it maybe once in more than 40 games.

Lunar Magus: Can replace Dawnwalker if aggro becomes big, Dawnwalker at the moment has not been very impressive, and the current meta is where it SHOULD be shining, as there is so little silence going around.

Teacher of Humility: Same as Magus, does better than Ripknife against aggro and likely makes people concede earlier than they should if she connects early, but makes you miss on the very important warcry for your interrogators and severely weakens the midrange matchup.

And last but not least: Removal in general Banish, Annihilate, Scorpion Wasp and Suffocate all have their niches in this deck. I won't consider the 4 cost removal cards as good here because while we do run vara to mess with those pesky aegis units and could definitely ICB them, I feel that they cost too much to help us get back on board before the opponent does.

Hey I'm a new player, why is Ayan good? Is there a combo with him?
Magnnarot Eternal Version: 1.39.0.5742
He is incredibly good vs aggro and a very good late game play. Doesn't do too badly vs control either if you aim to deal the last few points of damage. Ambush is a very strong ability and just the threat of holding up 3 power with TSS influence often makes people skip attacking with stuff that would be eaten by Ayan unless they have a way to get rid of him.

Hey, I'm loving the deck, but there's been one card who I feel like isn't pulling it's weight. Auric Interrogator just feels lack luster, and I find myself constantly prioritizing other 3-drops (Ayan, Merchant, Dawnwalker) over it, and it's card-draw ability doesn't seem to matter a ton, especially once you are able to play Azindel. Recently I discovered a cheeky little combo between Azindel and Argenport Instigator (Azindel draws a card when Instigator pings the enemy with his ability), so I have replaced the 3 copies of Auric Interrogator with the Instigator. I would recommend you all to try it out.

I replaced Power Stone and Ripknife Assasssin with Trailmaker and Teacher of humility, dark return with Journey Guide (which could just as well be initiate of the sands) and Tome of repetition with Shakedown, works a lot better for me now, I was drawing dark return in multiples and it didn't feel as strong as it could have been.
Gandalf Edited Eternal Version: 1.39
Go half and half between Journey Guide and Dark Return?

There's a really good deck in here but this isn't the correct list
Magnnarot Eternal Version: 1.39
I have a teched piece of deck with a primal splash for it now, will be posting in a few and linking this to that one.
TheBearProphet Eternal Version: 1.39
I'm looking forward to it very much. I love the idea of this deck but I just can't seem to get it working reliably.
Magnnarot Eternal Version: 1.39
Sorry for taking so long, here goes the list: Big Guy's Cleaver

I see a lot of players running Permafrost, you might consider swapping out the Predatory Carno in the market for an Infinite Hourglass. It also lets you do some aggressive attacks while still keeping blockers. Or Sandstorm Scarf to stop those pesky fliers.
chaostehjace Eternal Version: 1.39
A couple things I have found out, opposing Dawnwalker is great fodder for Vara, If there is room for Teacher, the auto concedes are worth running it.
BiblicalBeluga Eternal Version: 1.39
So this is just better mono time? In like, every way?
frmorrison Eternal Version: 1.39
Yes, better in all ways.
Therebrae Eternal Version: 1.39
Is it greedy of me to want to try Trail Makers here along with a Cirso's Cleaver in the market? Only make the primal when you have your other influence requirements met and cleaver is big game if you have the 7 power to enable it (which this deck likely will).
Magnnarot Eternal Version: 1.39
Currently testing a build that is that same concept, except no trail makers and with find the way in market and a combination of finds and seeks maindeck while cutting a bit on the tomes. Build also includes more removal spells
Wingflier Edited Eternal Version: 1.39
I'm really not sure about 4x Dark Return in this deck. Seems like most of the time it's going to sit in your hands until the very late game. Dawnwalker doesn't need it, Ripknife and Merchant probably don't want it. Perhaps on turn 5 you could resurrect a Sandstorm Titan or Vara that have been killed the previous turn. There's some synergy with Vara because she gets to use her ability again. After that Ayan's ability is about the same cost as Dark Return plus anything else, and it saves you a card.

Furthermore I find this deck really sad due to the fact that Vara's shiny new ability finally removes aegis and yet it doesn't have a single removal spell that takes advantage of that.

In addition, the deck seems incredibly weak to Permafrost because it has no way to remove curses or even to silence or kill your own creatures (and bring them back again). If it hits a Dawnwalker or Behemoth, that card is useless for the rest of the game. A 1 mana spell that shuts down your entire strategy is no bueno.
Magnnarot Eternal Version: 1.39
Dark returning a merchant is actually quite good, as that means you get to use all 5 of your market cards, and ripknife dark return is basically a kill spell vs a time fattie. Permafrost as of now isn't exactly an issue, as about every deck running it also runs Vara, which lets you just use the permaed units as sacrifices. I explained why no removal earlier in a post below.
FrenzenNightshade Edited Eternal Version: 1.39
Really cool Deck. I didn't have the Ayan, the Abductor so i switched it out for more top end replacements / more removal. I then switched out the Xenan Obelisk in both the main deck and market cause i felt it wasn't doing much. I replaced it with a disjucntion in the market so that i could hit more temporal stuff cause vara was great at breaking their face aegis
ElsOphion Edited Eternal Version: 1.39
Tome of repetition seems strange when it's your only spell craft weapon. Had u considered running just secret pages? Im curious if the effect of tome stacks with each other to cast multiple secret pages as well.
Lazybones Eternal Version: 1.39
He explains it in his description that it's an Auric Interrogator activator. As well as on turn 6 you can play it and spellcraft it twice to get a 1/2 weapon and go from 6 power to 8 power allowing you to play your Azindel and bump obelisk from +1/+1 to +2/+2 a turn or two sooner. Even a single spellcraft on turn 4 could look like Auric Interrogator on turn 3, activate his ability with the weapon and get an extra power turn 4, play a 6 drop turn 5. I like what the Tome's enabling here.
ElsOphion Eternal Version: 1.39
Yah I played with the deck it's pretty strong with the combination. I would suggest swapping 2 or so power stones for wasps
Lazybones Eternal Version: 1.39
Ah, nice. Glad you've enjoyed the Tome. I do agree the deck could probably use some more removal and wasp is a strong pick for it. Something to test.
Magnnarot Eternal Version: 1.39
When designing this deck I had in mind temporal control, and keeping removal count at a minimum is usually optimal when trying to deal with it. Right now we have VERY LITTLE in the amount of players piloting temporal due to basically none of the new cards improving/being fun with it, so I expect temporal to see a huge rise in popularity again in 1 to 2 weeks and then all the time midrange going around will be dead and this list back to being good, as of now you should definitely be running x4 Annihilate at the very least.
frmorrison Eternal Version: 1.39
Since removal is still good, what should be replaced to add 4x Annihilate?
