Cast Iron Furnace ´, everyone loves this card especially in Combination with
Prism Golem, but since this one is even, we'll take his little Brother
Evenhanded Golem instead.
To get to the point where
Cast Iron Furnace gets useful, there are several drawing spells, Varret and of course
Evenhanded Golem (use him to block away anything, just to make him count towards CIF, just like Varret).
Use
Beseech the Throne and
Desert Alchemist to plunder Power for Treasure Chests, since they are neutral aswell.
Seek Answers sometimes can be a very useful card when the game drags along. In early turns use it to draw Power, whereas later on you should go for non-power instead.
There's no need to explain the obvious choices such as Alhead etc., but some might say tha
Sandstorm Titan and
Gnash, Desert Prince don't fit the deck, since they get rid of flyers from Cast into Furnace. Yea, well, that is indeed true, but SST has a massive Body at low cost and Gnash gives you killer tokens, so thats fair enough to count towards value.
Market:
Should be straight forward with Killer, Feln removal, Obelisk, Card draw and of course
Grodov's Burden.
When fetching a Market card, make sure to use the correct Merchant/Grafter.
Speed Grafter is your only way to get Burden, so don't waste it, whereas
Wasteland Broker should have
Xenan Initiation as main target, but that can also be a situational call.
Cards that could be swapped:
-
Cykalis, the Burning Sand can be swapped out for more Prideleaders or a decent 4 Drop,
Insistent Automaton could be used here too, to recycle Golems ors Prideleaders or whatecer
-
Amber Lock, I use it for card draw only, could be swapped for 2 more
Temple Scribe or the other way around.
All in all its a very solid deck, but not as easy to play as most mono Time decks. It's all about decisions on when to play what: eg. Turn 2 Alhed against one of the Fire Dudes or rather a neutral spell instead? (to build up for CIF)
Have Fun
Regardless of dragons, I've come to believe that Gnash belongs in the market if you're running Broker. You don't really want to draw 6 drops while you're developing your board, and even decks have enough draw that you can shuffle him preemptively and draw into him in time.
CIF in even decks is pretty weird i must admit, but i mostly get the Dragon turn 6ish, it basicly is just another biggie drop which is mostly for free, since the deck aims to pump power turn by turn, just like the previous version of MeanTime. This should atleast explain the spells, since all we are lokking for it getting rid of the power cards in the deck, to have a higher chance to draw useful stuff instead ;)
But I'm also currently working on a non CIF version anyway
