Who doesn't love a good tribal deck?
Bless DWD, they have buffed some key components to dinos slowly yet surely to the point where they are now a force to be reckoned with! I was inspired by someone to create a dinos deck, and I wanted to increase the competitiveness of the deck a bit. So I added some TPS goodstuff in there and wammo out came an extremely fun and rewarding deck that can hold it's own in ranked. Since creating this deck, I have moved from Gold 3 to Diamond 1 (I haven't had the time to really grind this out to masters yet, been really busy with other things).
The thing I love about this deck is that there are plenty of options for trying to win a game, and plenty of ways to get around opponent's strategies. Harsh Rule is of course this deck's weakness, so when possible use Derry to seed out Harsh Rule and make it expensive to play. You can also use Derry to get ahead on your opponent by playing into their hand, say you see a Defiance or Vanquish you can use that knowledge, force them to use one or the other, so that you can hold on to the proper threats (usually Worldbearer Behemoth is the one you want to drop un-interrupted).
Key Combos:
-Evelina + Derry + Kimi = Non-Stop Buffs
-Darkclaw Ravager + Bloodscent Avisaur = Nightfall, Buffs, and Card Draw
-Kimi / Worldbearer / Derry + Twilight Hunt = Target Removal, Buff, and Card Draw (and can swing games out of nowhere)
-Darkclaw Ravager + Clutchmate = Super Buffs (makes first darkclaw 3/3, second darkclaw 6/3, and any Dino after that get +9 attack!)
-Avisaur Patriarch = Cheaper units + Buffs, Flying threat. A lot of times eats removal because opponents are scared of it's cost reduction ability
TPS Goodstuff:
-Equivocate - Great fast removal of anything, not so great when your opponent has high cost units on board
-Banish - The buff to 5 cost or less is a HUGE buff, so this card is absolutely amazing now. Those pesky seditis or his curse? Nothing to a player with banish. Serves as a dual purpose spell making the likelihood it'll be dead in your hand very low
-Dark Return - Mainly to get back your Dinos with killer, or really anything you want (but mostly the first thing)
-Strategize - Card draw
-Auralian Merchant - helps with power level, holds the line against aggro, get's most things you would want in the market (note it is a black market, so I have considered going with a different merchant so I can get Clutchmother [isthat the right name? the 14 cost bond dino with killer?])
I have considered wanting more Darkclaw Ravager's, though I'm unsure what I'd drop for them. They aren't a huge deal to be honest since a lot of times they eat removal fairly quickly (which can be a good thing), so maybe I might even replace with something else down the road. They serve well to get some card draw in and can help things get a bit bonkers if not answered.
Market:
-Xenan Temple = good at handling any deck that goes into the void, is very good card advantage, and can give you a killer proc. I also sometimes use this just for xenan augury, and if you have the influence, you can drop Auralian Merchant and get this down on turn 4 for a serious must answer threat.
-Xenan Obelisk = can help close out games, can help you get past big units, and just generally makes you a bigger threat.
-Vara's Choice = for when Equivocate just won't due, or when you know your opponent has something strong in their hand (maybe you saw them dark return something, or just know what they have been playing towards, etc.)
-Shimmerpack = a fun finisher, can help you get rid of some of your opponnents strong cards by transforming them, and is a dino to boot. I have sometime drawn this from the market, used Evelina to buff it, and then transform all my units into very strong dinos which can really help close out a game. It helps to also take any useless units that have been sitting and turn them into some attack power (ie a merchant, silenced units, etc.)
-Sandstorm Scarf = probably my least confident choice overall, I initially picked since I didn't have as may fliers, though that has increased in recent iterations with Bloodscent and Patriarch. Still, you may find yourself against an oppressive flier deck that you can't do anything against with all the land dinos, so maybe you need this to help you out. Very situational, I am strongly considering replacing it since I haven't even used it more than twice in all the games I've played. I might replace with
Infinite Hourglass since Permafrost can really hold this deck back, and with big dinos having endurance it makes it hard for the opponent to get anywhere.
