Intro:
Eilyn + snowball has always been my favorite thing to do in Eternal! After seeing Roshi pilot a Worldpyre deck with 50 power in Expedition, I decided to try something similar in Throne. The deck he was playing made top 64 at the most recent Expedition tournament. Throne gives us access to all the crests, which are very helpful; and of course Eilyn + Hurler.
The idea behind having 50 power is to game the mulligan system in Eternal. Once you mulligan, you are guaranteed to have 2-4 power only, allowing you to have very consistent hands post mulligan. The goal is to hard mulligan for Transpose. It's far better to have a 5-card hand with Transpose than a 6-card hand without it! Having access to all the Cylixes gives you a lot of additional card draw (and undepleted power).
The deck feels quite strong and I've had a high winrate through Gold, but I know it's going to be weak against Severin + Reap or very aggressive Stonscar decks. If you want to be better vs Severin, I'd dump the Defiances and a Harsh Rule for Annihilates, and adjust the power-base accordingly.
Flow:
Turns 1- 2: play depleted power to enable Transpose and setup for undepleted power on turn 4 (perhaps use Defiance to control early aggression)
Turn 3: play Transpose for Worldpyre, ideally marketing away Hurler or Power
Turn 4: play undepleted Cylix into Worldpyre
Turn 5: ideally Eilyn + 1 power spell; as long as they can't immediately remove her or counter your spell, you'll be able to either market or play Aid; if you don't have Eilyn or a 1 power spell, you should play Den
Turn 6: You can now use Worldpyre to play Aid of the Hooru or any other card in the deck
Tips:
- Ideally you'll want to grab Broker from the market for your second Transpose, and then play broker for Channel. However, must kill relics will require Marley. If you have Eilyn, Rejection is a consideration if you suspect she'll survive a turn (against something like Skycrag).
- If you have nothing to play with Worldpyre, you can always ramp a power card! This is especially useful if you have Marley on the board, as she'll become a 10/6!
- Den is mostly there as a better End is Near. Make sure you have your 6th power available in hand before playing End is Near! You need 6 power to play Aid of the Hooru. If they aren't able to kill the Den, Nakova can practically solo them.
- Always mulligan aggressively for Transpose! If you have a 5-card hand without Transpose, you can still win, but it's going to be a tough game. Use crests to bottom power for removal + Den.
- Make sure you play your 6th power before using Worldpyre to cast Aid of the Hooru! I've messed this up a couple of times; hopefully never again!
