How do you deal with Azindel with this deck? I'm in Diamond 2 right now and really struggling with all the Azindel recursion decks that play either no units or nothing but time and value removal, ramp, and spam out Azindel.
I'm not sure if I'm just playing terribly but I feel like I never have enough removal to deal with the amount of pressure that mask/Azindel ramp decks are putting out, and if they don't play units and then spam removal I can't put pressure them.
I would just like to say that I crafted the deck and am enjoying it very much!
Playing it in Gold at the moment. Any chance we could get an expanded guide explaining some strategy etc?
Got 7 straight wins from D1 to master with this list last night, great deck. AP control is very underrated and underplayed, I think, just as it was back in set 3. Congrats on rank 1!
Tavrod is a 5/7 multifaction with endurance which makes him impossible to deal with for any non justice aggro deck, and dodges most removal from other decks. He wins the game fast and if you protect him with sabotages your opponent will not be able to stop it with units. Sometimes he will draw you another tavrod, a sotsk or runehammer, but that’s just gravy.
Lol, I played this deck against you about 3 days ago... Any coincidence that it was posted the same day? Maybe I just reminded you that this is still out there? All jokes aside, I have been on this deck for 2 weeks. It has brought me from stuck at D2 to Masters this season. Really just seems to line up well against the current meta. :D
Is it bad that I don't know how to feel about Vara? With 8 care-about units (Tavrod and Vara) they just feel like removal magnets. Not saying that the build is wrong in any sense, just wanted to ask how it's played out in more testing than I've done (a small handful of games).
Vara is currently among the best 4 drops in the game, right next to SST. Sure it's a removal magnet along with Tavrod, but that's fine. Forces the opponent to answer it, gives time to set up with the giant metal dongers.
I think kerendon merchant is superior. The 2/1 deadly body is far more meaningful than the 2/2 flyer. I also think the shadow market is better as azindels gift is really strong in a harsh rule deck.

What do you think about the more revengey lists? Makto/alchemist etc? Think your list is preferable in the meta?
Thanks!
