Information

Hello guys, Osidan here. Today I updated a very old deck, Stonescar Twist. It's essentially playing all the good twist creatures, hoping to build a board, pushing damage and outvalueing your opponent. The big allure to twist decks are Distilled Venom and Frontier Surveyor, although to be fair, the twist units I included are pretty good on their own. Street Urchin is an excellent 1 drop, Cabal Repeater can really put pressure on your opponent, Censari Dervish is decent, allowing for surprise lethal/burst. All these combined with burn spells, hand disruption, recursion, card selection, hard removal make for an interesting deck I'm sure you'll find surprisingly colorful. I'm trying to cover many bases, I like having outs to different situations, so you'll find a selection of 1 ofs, as is custom for my decks. As usual, I identify the pillars of a deck and then add the supporting cast. In an aggressive Stonescar deck, I prefer running burn removal over shadow (hard) removal, since you will reach stages where burn just wins the game. However, I do acknowledge that sometimes you just need that kill spell and that's why I run a couple. Relic weapons are good against control decks, Nullblade pops Aegis, shrinks the yard, has 3 armor. Jawbone Greatsword is great in an aggressive deck as you will be able to have Tribute online and Brand is an excellent finisher. Both relic weapons are great with Wyatt's Junkyard, card I'm really fond of in the deck. I was debating having it in the market, but I preferred Immortalize, as it's cheaper. Exploit is just a really great card, able to counter a variety of strategies. Mainly you want it to protect your board against a control opponent, but being able to pick any card it's just an overall great asset. Coming back to an earlier point, I just want to emphasize that Distilled Venom is good against any creature strategy. You put it on and then start generating value with any of your twist creatures. Really sweet card. Frontier Surveyor is just bonkers if you have 2-4 twist cards on the board. Stained Honor, the twist "lord", helps once you have Venom out, since you will be able to twist more than once, potentially killing the target and generating lots of value. The cost reduction is always great, but it's particularly strong with Blurreechaser, decent mix of value and aggression. Essentially, you will be able to twist for 0, killing the Venom target for free, while scouting many times and increasing the attack of Blurree. You can kill anything once you have that combo, no matter how much health it has. In fact, the more health, the better, as you will be able to get more scouts and more attack. I had situations where I killed something for 1 cost and ended up with 6 scouts and a 7/3 quickdraw. All of this if you have Chaser, Honor and Venom. Since the deck does have synergy value plays, I ended up including 2 Cull the Deck. It's unusual, since we do run an aggro strategy. But at several stages in the game, it may help you find exactly what you're looking for. Need burn? Have a shot! Need Venom? Good chance! Need market access? Perhaps! It's just so great in a varied deck like this. Alright, I'll leave you with that note. Thanks for reading, I wish you a great day. <3 Osidan
