111 - 1 (15 successful runs, 1 incomplete)
...well only 1 dragon, but it's a full playset! I did have
Crimson Firemaw in my earlier tests, but I had to cut it and now all I'm left with is an embarassing deck name.
This is the Stonescar version of the first deck I posted here:
Tasbu and Sodi Sitting on a Tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G! This is
Tasbu, the Forbidden during his bachelor days. Apparently, he was a dragon person long before he met
Sodi, Wingbreaker, and was an absolute bad boy. But once they tied the knot, he traded in his 4 vicious reds for 1 timid
Black-Sky Harbinger to live a more low-key showbiz life.
The deck is pretty straightforward, no special sauce here:
- Just go face with warcry units.
-
Tasbu, the Forbidden is your draw + deterrent.
-
Xo of the Endless Hoard is additional draw + finisher if it comes to it.
You should have no problem with 2 power hands.
- You have 8 2-cost units, 8 2-cost draw, 3
Vara's Choice, then if those aren't enough, you have all the removals at 1-2 cost only.
- I've encountered 2 power hands (for more than 5 turns) twice in 111 games and won them both.
Rakano Outlaw has been pulling her weight here.
- You can replace her with
Blackhall Warleader if you like, but they function differently.
- I like warcry better because you only need to attack to get the buff so if you decide to suicide her with Tasbu on board (for the draw), you get DOUBLE value.
- With Torch, she can surprise kill any 5 HP unit (rarely happens).
- She's also a 4/4 VS Highly Skilled (so is
Ripknife Assassin), which makes a lot of difference in the early game.
I don't recommend
Argenport Instigator because
Desecrate + Tasbu +
Emblem of Makkar are already enough punishment, we don't need more ping damage.
In Cold Blood in the market is for
Inquisitor Makto because it's hard to outgrind the AI deck "Best Served Cold" especially since we don't have flying + it's also useful to get rid of
Knight-Chancellor Siraf or
Marshal Ironthorn in "Power of Progress" boss because both can easily outvalue us.
I also use this to get my first win of the day (ranked). Pretty consistent there too, but I'm in the lower ranks so yeah.
LOSSES:
1st loss: 14th boss = Sudden Death
- AI opened with
Infernus, followed it up with
Blazing Renegade, then 2
Ticking Grenadin. Hell I just quit.
BOSSES:
1. Mindless Aggression (charge) - 12 turns
2. Highly Skilled (+1 / +1 per battle skill) - 7 turns
3. Power of Progress (2 power per turn) - 5 turns
4. Highly Skilled (+1 / +1 per battle skill) - 8 turns
5. Limitless Possibilities (random battle skill) - 12 turns
6. Company of Exiles (spells into units) - 10 turns
7. Highly Skilled (+1 / +1 per battle skill) - 10 turns
8. Highly Skilled (+1 / +1 per battle skill) - 6 turns
9. Power of Progress (2 power per turn) - 8 turns
10. Labyrinth Treasury (units cost 1 less) - 8 turns
11. Highly Skilled (+1 / +1 per battle skill) - 7 turns
12. Labyrinth Treasury (units cost 1 less) - 8 turns
13. Highly Skilled (+1 / +1 per battle skill) - 6 turns
14. Sudden Death (double damage) - Quit in 3 turns
15. Power of Progress (2 power per turn) - 12 turns
16. Mindless Aggression (charge) - 6 turns
Tasbu is the Heart of the Vault of this deck, who can continue to generate value as long as you're dropping units. You're also confident with AI removing your units or even board wipes because you can easily refill your hand. Deadly also prevents AI from attacking or blocking efficiently so he's fulfilling a lot of roles here.
I hope you find another Stonescar deck - we have tons here!
Maybe I'll just bite the bullet and craft Tasbu since he fits in with mono Shadow too.
I hope you find as much success with Tasbu as I do - he's one of my favorite cards in the game, up there with Cirso, the Great Glutton.
Hope you have fun with this deck! Btw, if you don't have 2 Nullblades, you can get 1 from the store under THEME DECKS. It's in the one called Livia's Armory :)
And yeah that's exactly what I did to get the blade! I moved it to the market and removed Dizo's Office. Also how I'm going to get a Rhysta and Livia.
Dizo's Office can be game-winning especially VS Company of Exiles boss (turns spells into units). Imagine a 6-cost unit coming down the moment you remove something on AI's board (Cut Ties).

I can check your collection, thanks!
I never make it to turn 7 against that boss anyway. I feel like I'm playing Gauntlet wrong in general. Can I add you in game and spectate?
My IGN is Roxie.
What's the deal with Xo in the deck? Is it just for the Treasurer Troves? I've played a couple runs with the deck and haven't once casted Xo, especially if I decimate my power with the emblems.
Roxie +0774
Yes Treasure Troves, plus something we can market so we don't have to lose any of our key cards. The draw might be redundant with Quarry around, but I like more in case we don't draw Tasbu on time. The dragon is just an additional threat in case games go long (you'll never know with Gauntlet).
I've probably played the actual dragon less than 10 times in 18 runs/126 games.
EDIT: I don't usually decimate if I want to reach 7 power for Dizo's Office (happens more) unless I really need the unit (happens less). I'm also within reach of casting Xo a lot of times, I usually just go for Dizo's Office more.
Funny you should ask about Red/Green because I remembered kc_bandit last week (a great guy who made the very first Gauntlet deck I played here) so I started testing out a Rakano deck for gauntlet. I'm still tweaking, but I'll post it when it's ready!
Anyway kudos to you for following his work with those awesome decks. I assume he doesn't play anymore?
I haven't seen him here so I assume he's not playing anymore. I also couldn't find any of his decks (I was planning to link them in my post above, but my effort was limited to searching "kc bandit" "kc_bandit" and "kcbandit" LOL). I would've loved to get a chance to talk Gauntlet with him!
I'll still not stop making fun of you for not having kerendon merchants ;)
I've put up a version of the kairos creeper deck (not the ramp one with the always-dying ramp cards) that I use for gauntlet, its for serious almost unbeatable by the A.I. since worst case scenario you just wait till you can plop Kairos out and burn damage AI to death. If you have the cards for it, give it a try, I'm trying to see if it needs another scorpion wasp, emblems, or a change to the market, and your advice would be welcome.
In the meantime i've imported this new deck of yours and will be doing some runs with it - unconvinced of outlaw but will give it a try. When I just started playing Eternal it was one of my top favorites, but 2-2 in standard has been hard to compete with 3-3 instigator or 2-3 warleader.
As for Rakano Outlaw - you can replace her if she doesn't suit you :) I didn't bother replacing her since she was doing well anyway.
PS. Checked out your Kairos deck btw. Will test it!
You gotta craft some kerendon merchants tho! You're missing out on some fantastic mono shadow decks, especially since your a gauntleteer
As far as fitting in here, i just crafted him and just trying him out in various places. The warcry thing changes my mind on this deck.
Elysian so popular now, Sodi's Spellshaper is such an amazing card!
Are you finding Nullblade good in maindeck? Was always a market card for me.
Nullblade is FAST removal here! Having lots of war cry also makes it more appealing to have in the main deck. It has gotten me a lot of 2-for-1's either because I was removing smaller units every turn or because I got it so big, it's like I'm playing Armory LOL!
Have had moderate success with this deck. Not as much as with my Kairos obliterator, but bout same as Elysian.
I've been focused on getting gold for drafting and so I'm playing almost all Kairos obliteatof since it just steamrolls Gauntlet.
Not sure why but I really love this one. It's the only deck where I went 13 straight runs (not changing decks, no test runs in between) without a loss.
I've stopped using Kairos for a month now (even if he's great) - after more than 30 runs I'm ready for something else LOL. I'll get back to him once I start testing your version!
Ill have to give this one another go. I think I buggered it up by messing with it (i always try to make decks my own, not big on a purely copy-pasted decks) and will try it like it is, since you obviously put good time into perfecting them. --------- If i was going to say anything, it would be that I often found myself wishing for Spiteful Strike, but then again I just love that card. Devastating setback instead of malediction would make your little varas survive, and is also cheaper. Just thoughts ---------------
Super interested in the Rakano deck youre making.
You could post a private (nobody else can see it) version and I can help test it out if u want? Always liked rakano (especially a fan of Sharpshooters! If only for the lol results). I'd probably be willing to craft all 4 Cozin's for the deck, i plan on making them anyway, and it would help try her out eh?
Let me know
