Information

Probably not the best deck but is extremely fun to play and different from the current meta. Also, uses cards that rarely see play. I love to think out of the box when making decks. :P

It's actually doing better than I thought it would. Currently the win rate is about 60% (10 wins 6 losses) so there is still room for improvement.

The goal is to limit or completely remove all win conditions from the opponent.

Thank you! :)
dreamdate Eternal Version: 1.42.2
best mulligan hand?
Becker Edited Eternal Version: 1.42.2
There are no mass removal like Harsh Rule or End of the Story? maybe some finishers like Sword of the Sky King and Channel the Tempest
Babelet Eternal Version: 1.42.2
They both would be good except they would wipe my Caltrops and Permafrost off the enemy units. Caltrops works by keeping the unit on the board and denies the enemy the ability to play a second one. The biggest problem is when I encounter a flying endurance unit. I can Caltrops them, but they become a blocker. Avigraft can't hit them, so generally I have to do damage with a second unit. Those are generally the units I prioritize with Citywide Ban or units like Azindel if I don't have an Avigraft on hand. Once I lock down their main units, I have counter spells in hand for any removals so they cant target my units or their own. From their its just chipping away at their health, filling my hand from Jotun even if he is getting blocked. I can't use Sword of the Sky king as I would have to kill their units. I will try to work in Channel the Tempest and see how it turn outs but its cost is very high and this deck doesn't fetch power very quickly. I would love to get Shush in the deck, just as much as I would love to get my gavel into my market. :P
Shadowcran Edited Eternal Version: 1.42.2
Flying Endurance eh? Consider working in Silence somehow. Rebuke, Valkyrie Enforcers. Then you can avigraft those as well. Btw, love the deck as I'm a Hooru junkie. Consider "Brilliant Idea" for a Market or even deck spell. Eilyn's Choice might be a better choice than Rejection or Unseal as you can use that for the 4 or higher Flying Endurance. You might want to go with WInchest Merchant instead. Put the Extra Jotun into the main deck for them x 4. Then put the gavel into the market. Keep Vision and Banner in market. Add a End of the Story and one of the Citywide Ban to complete the Market. With the space left by Citywide, add the Brilliant Idea.

Yeah, also you can't use the Sword of the Sky King with Hooru Pacifier as well.
Babelet Edited Eternal Version: 1.42.2
Thanks for the advice! I'll definately try swapping merchants and see how Brilliant Idea plays.
Shadowcran Eternal Version: 1.42.2
I was nervous about trying it in anything due to it's cost, but Hooru tends to extend a match out and drawing 4 or 6 or even 8 becomes possible. All of which can turn a close game into a blowout.
TwoEagles Eternal Version: 1.42.2
Rain of frogs would fit the theme?
Babelet Eternal Version: 1.42.2
I tried rain of frogs, but what I found was when I used it, more often than not, I would be forced to transform a card they couldn't play and give them a new unit type that I had to worry about. I only tried it in a few games but perhaps I could look into it again. Not to mention I'm not sure what card I would replace it with. It definitely does fit the theme though.
TwoEagles Eternal Version: 1.42.2
Like the rain of frogs to deal with charge/aegis/strong summon effects before they hit the board, obviously.
Rokoku Eternal Version: 1.42.2
Thanks, I hate it :)
Babelet Eternal Version: 1.42.2
What don't you like about it?
amiableMortician Eternal Version: 1.42.2
It just seems purpose-built to cause the opponent emotional trauma, that's all. It's likely a good deck, but even if someone beats you, they aren't going to enjoy it.
Babelet Edited Eternal Version: 1.42.2
True, I imagine it can be traumatic to play against, especially if you rely on a single unit or spell for most of your strategy i.e echo units, rats, the Great Parliament or Channel the Tempest. I'm sure there are some people who wouldn't enjoy a match like this but there are some who like that it's different. In fact, a few people have added me and said that they really enjoyed the match. I personally don't like rush decks, and believe me I tried to get into them, but to me it seems like you're just trying to throw down as much damage as quickly as possible which isn't fun to me. I like to have a strategy and enjoy the game, not rush to finish it. But that's my opinion. I imagine some people dislike control decks which drag out the game.

I really appreciate the reply as it gives me a more well-rounded knowledge of what people think about the deck. :)
goldstarbrother Eternal Version: 1.42.2
what about messenger hawk to get more lock pieces
Babelet Edited Eternal Version: 1.42.2
That is a nice card but what exactly would I use it on? Most decks on average have maybe 6-10 different types of units. Avigraft takes care of most ground units, Citywide Ban takes care of their top end units/spells (depending on how your hand looks and their units) and Caltrops is good at stopping flying units. As for spells, they are generally a one off; If it's an important spell for that deck Ie. Torch, Channel the tempest, or one of the display variants, chances are they have 4 of them so rejection comes into play.

Thank you very much for the feedback! :)
