The logic of this deck starts with
Jotun Feast-Caller,
Xenan Obelisk, and
Xenan Initiation. That might sound like an odd start, but Jotun's main problem comes from its three health, making it difficult to attack. That pushes Feast-caller decks into the control category. By giving it more health via
Xenan Obelisk and letting it attack at least once (
Xenan Initiation), we start to be able to move closer to mid-range.
How do we complete this transition? The rest of the deck relies on
Dawnwalker, which then implies
Sandstorm Titan,
Worldbearer Behemoth,
Amber Monument, and
Predatory Carnosaur.
The rest is just tech.
Nocturnal Observer gives us a way to fish for whatever we need and discard
Dawnwalkers for extra value.
Temple Scribe is just a good 2-drop and
Permafrost and
Polymorph provide decent removal, also enabling Jotun Feast-caller to attack more often.
I have found this deck surprisingly consistent, although it does have some weaknesses (such as
Polymorph or
Xenan Obelisk plus something big being our answers to a cow god).
