This deck started as a mill deck which has slowly evolved into a feln variant with mill as a possible win condition. The general game plan is to use nightfall effects to cycle through your cards while your Deathcaps discard as much of your opponents deck as they can, while you use removal and small Vara to stay alive. Rejection and In Cold Blood serve as possible four-for-ones that also fuel your Solitude win condition.
Notable Matchups:
Rakano Aggro: If they get a good draw you will have trouble (as always), but you have the tools to deal with them. As a bonus, discard mechanics will often catch their units buffed by warcry and discard them before they are able to be played.
Jennev: This deck struggles with strong midrange decks that can play multiple large threats in a row. This seems to be the worst matchup.
Again, the concept and the deck itself is amazing. I am trying to make some* changes to improve it. Thank you for posting.
Originally this deck was actually in blue-black-green, but meeting all the influence requirements ended up being difficult (as well as making In Cold Blood a bad idea). Hailstorm and Devestating Setback can usually work well enough for most circumstances. Sometimes its better to hold onto it until they merchant, though.
Eremot is a bit clunky, I agree, but he works well against certain control decks and temporal. I'm also not sure what you'd replace him with. I've been looking at Nametaker, but it's even clunkier, so probably not.
I'm not sure I agree with removing Azindel's Gift - the prevalence of relic hate due to Chains being a thing does mean its a lot weaker, but a lot of decks keep their relic hate in the market, so if they can't answer it on the spot you usually win.
Vara-Jotun antisynergy is unfortunate, The deck needs the draw though, and Jotun is the best card for the job. It doesn't bite me in the ass too often
If Mill wasn't a consideration I'd probably cut rejection and run either Unseal or Rindra's Choice. 4 mana is a lot of mana to try to keep open.
I appreciate the feedback. The things you brought up are definitely things I've considered.
When two of these mushroom guys sits on the board, it feels so pleasant to use a sigil. hahaha
Not just giving me something fresh and funny to play with, you are a very polite person. Some people feel mad when others give their decks some feedbacks and in some cases I agree because there are some disrespectful feedback around. This community is in need of more players like you. Keep the good work and thanks again.
Oh, sure, I agree with everything you said in your reply.
