CURRENT RANK: Diamond III
This is a budget ladder deck.
The main game play is to draw as many cards as possible with
Gorgon Fanatic and
Wisdom of the Elders, while using
Haunting Scream and
Dark Return to combat removals. If your units are targeted by any kind of Silence effect, use
Devour on them to prevent them being silenced, then draw them back with
Sleeping Draught.
Fill your board with beasts summoned by
Direwood Beastcaller and remove all the opponent units to win.
Normal removals actually help you populate your void, and board wipe like
Harsh Rule can't keep you down for more than a single turn.
Special trick with
Madness: use madness on the big unit like
Tavrod, Auric Broker or
Inquisitor Makto, then sacrifice them with
Devour and draw them back from your void
Pros:
- Extremely good against control type decks
- Good against mid range deck (Argenport)
- Good sustain and removals
- Many kinds of plays
Cons:
- Can be mana screwed, careful with opening hand, aim for at least 3 power
- Weak against aegis aggro decks that can dodge removal
- Weak against heavy revenge deck due to no silence, but manageable unless opponent has god draw
UPDATE:
- Removed
Herald's Song and
Sporefolk. I understand that many can play on their discards, but most of the time those are just dead cards on my hand. Thanks to recent rank up I am able to add more
Madness and
Piercing Grief instead
- Removed
Vara, Fate-Touched and
West-Wind Herald, too slow for my taste. Added
Vara's Favor to ensure sigil consistency as well as popping those annoying aegis
i'll skip that change and also i remove 1 Wisdom of the Elders for 1 Shadowlands Feaster.
Flying isn't necessary because Haunting scream give your creatures flying. If anything I would use Blacksky Harbinger, but then again, don't have it yet
