Why no daisho or rise to the challenge? (Not necessarily disagreeing with your current choices, just wanting to know your reasoning for opting out of those)
My current version (not on this site) does run Daisho and Rise.
This particular list was built for the day 1 meta after a content release, with the meta being a mix of Tavrod decks because he's the best card from the expansion and very fast aggro decks looking to take advantage of unrefined brews. Rise and Daisho are bad against both. In particular, both are useless against aggro, and a risen Runehammer does not kill Tavrod. Daisho is often a worse Sword of Icaria, so that wasn't worth it either.
Could you please keep us up to date and post your current list? :)
Or just tell us what for you subbed Rise and Daisho. I've seen a streamer play a list similar to this one with both Rise and Daisho but couldn't find it nowhere. I really want to try this deck :)
ManuS has a similar list in one of his recent videos, and you can find a YouTube link to it on Reddit. His list is not exactly the same as mine, but should be solid.
Definitely not. Functionally the closest thing available is Valkyrie Enforcer, but that is bad for the curve. Your best bet may be other 4-cost cards such as Rise to the Challenge and Furnace Mage.
He's a bit pushed, but he's more expensive and has two double-influence requirements, and his use is restricted to a specific style. He goes to waste if you don't run a bunch of minotaurs or weapons. Preferably both.
I think he is a little bit much, but not unbeatable. I've been having reasonable amounts of success against Tavrod decks with time based midrange. Elysian is typically better against bigger versions, but Praxis might be better against more aggro Tavrod lists. I've started running 1-2 Scorpion Wasp for extra help against him. Combrei also seems promising, as it has a lot of big units to get in his way, vanquishes to kill him, and enforcers to silence him. Tavrod might have been too pushed and might have to get nerfed, but I'd rather have powerful cards that make an impact on the meta than cards that don't change anything and see no play.

tl;dr: meta.
