Information

You play Diogo, give Invoke Destiny. Then you use Celestial Omen to tutor for the Invoke with Destiny, mill most of your deck and use the merchant you are likely to hit to market for Lethrai Soothsayer, you attack with one of your units and get to fill your by now empty deck with Premonition Bolt which will be lethal. If your opponent is at a high life total you can use Excavate to put Soothsayer on top again to get double the amount of bolts next turn.

Reminder that you can get the one Sootshayer from a theme deck!

Edit: I took out the devotees and added some more power so I hit 4 power off of Invoke more reliably. Im still finetuning the list.

Dillon Eternal Version: 1.46.9
I’m only gonna build this since it’s Ahorn, and well yeah I remember him even after taking a year long break from the game.. August of 2018 up until about 2-3 weeks ago since my return :D. I was in the process of enlisting in the Army so by the time I shipped off to Basic Combat Training for the Army on September 3rd up until I returned just recently I have bee busy with the first ten weeks of Basic Combat Training, AIT (KINDA like college some would say well those who’ve never been to college that is lol. But this is where you’re on a spend the next 5 to 40 weeks here in TRADOC which is fucking bullshit rules and shift like that..) and then duty station...So I have two decks I know that I remember coming across since I checked them when I first got back... It was a SS Aggro that was utilizing both Highway and Queen..

Besides I was running this combo already, however without this way too obvious and why didn’t I think of it type of deck. So bravo and thanks for the variation... I gotta work soon but I’ll be running it hopefully a game or two beforehand..

Also crazy but I’ve been gone for TWO entire/whole sets, campaigns, and what have you.. PLUS the newest “mini set/promo set” which was the one that came out just as I got back.. The one you could buy normally, the premium upgraded set, OR the one with all of the aforementioned goodies, plus premium set of signals exclusive to JUST that third upgrade... So yeah I went with the third upgrade lol. Hell I was at 95% or higher on sets 1, 2, 3, and 4 prior to leaving back in 2018 and now that I’ve gotten back just weeks ago (I’ve only been truly playing a good solid week.. IF you could even call it solid or a week that is.. But the good news is I’ve gotten both sets 5 and 6 up to about 90% minimum for the two now.. Plus both new campaigns that were released (upgraded of course and even the older ones nobody :D )

Anyways, I’m looking forward to playing more great and fun decks such as this.. Thanks man you’re the best.. TRULY!

For the lazy, TL;DR "Thanks for the list!"
kupo Eternal Version: 1.46.9
How am I supposed to use Excavate on Soothsayer? Bolt can only target enemies.
randildarkstar Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Why don't you use Stonescar Excavator in the market. It's more reliable.
AhornDelfin Eternal Version: 1.46.8
I played a lot of the excavator combo, but this version is a lot better. You don't have to run that much power, so you have room for ramp and interaction and soothsayer is a lot less vulnerable against face aegis.
sto650 Eternal Version: 1.46.9
If you like to have more interaction and such in the combo, just play a full Jennev "good stuff" list, with 4 Gardens, 2 Invokes, and Diogo and Soothsayer in the market. BAM! You have a slightly worse Jennev list, with a side order of Diogo Combo (get out Diogo from market, play a garden, use resurface on the next turn, and then diogo the resurfaced invoke).
Jkjkgrl Edited Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Just played 3 games won them all. First was the combo, second they silenced my diogo so I just kept smashing face with merchant.
3rd they put 5x5 dmg fire bombs in my deck so I just kept attacking
Lol feel like the combo is weak... Since 2/3 games I won just by smashing face with garbage units.
sto650 Eternal Version: 1.46.8
The meta has gotten too hostile for the combo. Play another deck until people stop putting Royal Decree in everything.
Jkjkgrl Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Game where I'm.mana flooded without merchants
Game where I'm not enough power to reach 6
Game where I get diago remove it and gg before I can get him back
Game where I'm influence fucked.
Help
anomia Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Having just one Invoke is not a good idea imo. I forgot that you just ran one and started my hand with Invoke+Whispering Wind. My plan was to discard it, draw diego and amplify and then excavate for Invoke. That was sad when I used exacavate and the card did not have destiny.
AhornDelfin Eternal Version: 1.46.8
If you run more Invokes you aren't guaranteed to draw the destiny one from Whispering Wind when you discard a Merchant. I found that the number of times you win via Wind is greater than the number of times you lose because you draw your one Invoke.
Jkjkgrl Edited Eternal Version: 1.46.8
So how do you recover when you draw your Trump card?
Didn't know that only one got destiny.
Just played a game where I drew both of them
AhornDelfin Eternal Version: 1.46.8
You usually don't, but the chance to draw the one copy is rather low. Technically you can play or discard it with Wind to play excavate and Diogo in the same turn, but that rarely going to work out.
brody138 Eternal Version: 1.46.9
If you only run 1x Invoke the Waystones, then you have a 17.5% (first) or 18.5% (second) chance of drawing it before you can combo. This is based off of amplifying on turn 6, because even though this type of deck runs ramp cards, they are usually immediately targeted with removal.
Jkjkgrl Eternal Version: 1.46.8
No blue.merchant got pwned
dyslexicfaser Edited Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Lots of fun, but the current meta of super-fast Skycrag and Stonescar is not kind to it. I'm thinking I might toss Swift Refusal for a Hailstorm.
Jkjkgrl Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Getting rekt before I even get 6 power, is last game just 1 unit 2/2 flying hit me down to 14 before I set my combo. Many games I'm being demolished and gg before I can fire
sto650 Eternal Version: 1.46.8
I swapped Swift Refusal for Unseal. I think I'm OK with one higher cost in order to counter anything.
Abeneezer Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Did you cut the Teleports?
AhornDelfin Eternal Version: 1.46.8
What teleports?
Abeneezer Edited Eternal Version: 1.46.8
I played against someone with this kind of deck and they were playing several teleports for their soothsayer. Thought it was you.
AhornDelfin Eternal Version: 1.46.8
The deck cant run any maindeck spells so I dont really know where someone would fit a teleport in.
Abeneezer Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Guess it would have been teleport in market.
sto650 Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Ahorn - After playing a half dozen games or so, I'm finding that I really am praying for just 4 un-depleted to be able to play the Soothsayer. Any thoughts on what can be done about that? Just get luckier maybe?
AhornDelfin Eternal Version: 1.46.8
I am trying versions with more power to hit that more reliably, but I find that in the cases where I don't hit the 4 power I can set up lethal the next turn with excavate. But this is just an early version of the deck. I think there is still room for improvement.
Macronomicon Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Lemme see if I have this correct:
Step 1: Diolgo
Step 2: Whispering Wind attacks and dumps a merchant
Step 3: empty deck
Step 4: get Soothsayer
Step five: 21 premonition bolt damage?
Assuming you hit them for quite a bit earlier, I guess that's a kill shot.

Just trying to make sure I know what the combo is.
AhornDelfin Eternal Version: 1.46.8
You can use Skycrag Smugglers to increase the damage or use 2 bolts to kill your soothsayer, excavate it and get more bolts next turn.
whiskey Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Bolts can't target friendly units.
Macronomicon Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Okay, I see it now.

Seems to be a fun combo. It has a little weakness to disruption, but it's fun to see.
sto650 Edited Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Step 1 is more like - Have yellow power in hand and start ramping.
Step 2 - use any merchant to fetch Diogo
Step 3 (most often) - use a blue merchant to fetch Celestial Omen
Step 3 alternate - attack with Whispering Wind and discard a merchant AFTER playing and amplifying Diogo
Step 4 (which precedes the alternate step 3) - Play Diogo and Amplify him
Step 5 - Use Celestial Omen to draw the Destiny copy of Invoke the Waystones
Step 6 - pray for a blue merchant to play onto the board, and pray that you get 4 un-depleted power as well
Step 7 - Use said blue merchant to fetch Soothsayer
Step 8 - Attack (if you didn't already) and then play Soothsayer
Step 9 - Bolt their face down - they are each 4 damage if you have the Howling Peak Smuggler on board

Note: If your opponent is on a deck that might have Royal Decree, your first market trip should grab your counterspell. Royal decree is auto-lose if it hits Diogo.
Jkjkgrl Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Out.of order.
1. Get enough power to either amp diogo or get soothsayer
2. Amp diago
3. Invoke way stone by drawing, or using whisper wind, or celestial omen (through merchant)
Step 4 empty deck
Step 5. Win
Macronomicon Eternal Version: 1.46.8
I definitely love using Royal Decree in my two Hooru decks. I can see how that'd be a weakness.

I'm also going to look at the Excavator version. I'm pretty sure I already have the cards for it.
sto650 Edited Eternal Version: 1.46.8
This looks pretty cool ... I feel like you could afford to drop 1x Ixtun Merchant for one extra Invoke though, since the Ixtun merchant can only grab exactly Diogo and nothing else anyways. Also, I think it might be better to have Messenger Hawk do the job of Excavate, and have Dissociate do the job of Swift Refusal. What do you think? Edit: I think I'll try this version. I've done a ton of the Excavator combo, and this looks like a fun, different take on it.
CoffeeParasol Eternal Version: 1.46.8
This is pretty clever, but I feel like with only one invoke in the deck you're totally sunk if you draw it too early - your only hope after that is to stall for TTTT influence to hardcast it then excavate and amplify it with diogo on the same turn.
AhornDelfin Eternal Version: 1.46.8
It might be totally correct to run 2 invokes, but I'm testing this version because only a single one means whispering wind is a guaranteed tutor.
Macronomicon Eternal Version: 1.46.8
I've found it works better with 1 less Ixtun Merchant and 1 more Invoke the Waystones. Just played three games with each version, and the one with 2 works out better.

Though you might want to amplify Diolgo twice, if you're going to use the Whispering Wind to draw it.
joepunchface Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Hey Ahorn, great deck building! As usual.
Question, is whispering wind there to help you find the merchant you need if you don't draw the right one at the right time?
AhornDelfin Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Hey, thanks for the kind words. Wind is there to turn any merchant into your Destiny Invoke once you played Diogo. It allows you to combo off on the same turn you play Diogo since it is your only card that costs more than your merchants.
joepunchface Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Well that is just objectively brilliant. Great work!
Freamwhole Eternal Version: 1.46.8
Looking at sto650's template - what if you swapped out the Swift Refusal with Stonescar Excavator for a backup plan? Seems like a good synergy. Both of these decks are great fun.
AhornDelfin Eternal Version: 1.46.8
I already played a lot of Excavator combo, you can see my version of that here It goes to 55. The Soothsayer allows me to not run that much power and is less vulnerable to face aegis and the opponent gaining lots of life.
Freamwhole Eternal Version: 1.46.8
That makes sense. Thanks!
