I avoid playing Winchest Merchant in all my decks. It took a while, but most players are also avoiding it now: https://prnt.sc/lrqbmu. The body is way too weak.
Is Harsh Rule good enough to make up for the bad body? To gain card advantage with Harsh Rule, your opponent has to commit 2 more non-aegis units to the board than you have committed (you played a merchant, so they need at least 3 units). All their aegis units survive, and they get to refill their board first, so you are behind in tempo. Then there are the worst case scenarios where the opponent plays Stand Together or Unseal.
I'm currently trying a few different tweaks on the market, one involves having 3 Time Merchants and 2 Justice merchants to have access to Harsh Rule over SSF. I don't have enough info yet but I'll post here if it works out.
This is my favorite deck by far, and I made an account just to ask this question. I've found that I barely ever use striking snake formation, and I could really use a way to deal with units that keep recurring. How would you feel about swapping out SSF for Vara's Choice or something similar?
On a related note, what do you run banishment for that you can't hit with disjunction? I usually find that if they have a creature I have enough removal spells that I don't want to use my market to deal with them, and it would be nice to have a way to deal with Sword of the Sky King and other relic weapons.
Thank you in advance, I really love your deck and would really appreciate the feedback!
Also, do you have any streams or videos of you playing this deck? I'd love to watch them.
Thanks, glad you like it! Vara's Choice is a reasonable market option, it would get used more often than SSF. The reason I have SSF is because it wins on the spot when it's good, while Vara's Choice will usually just prolong the game. I think this market can afford to have 1 very situational card. If you play Vara's Choice, you could also switch Banish for Passage of Eons. That configuration has early all-purpose removal, relic removal, and an answer to multiple fliers.
I think there is just this one vod of me playing this deck (round 6, quarters, finals). https://www.twitch.tv/videos/331100549?filter=archives&sort=time
I'll ask your opinion here, I'm doing these changes in-game.
So basically you went -1 Find The Way -2 Xenan Initiation +3 Setback from your tournament list. Have you thought about cutting those Find the Ways to add Xenan Initiation back instead? Find the Way is nice ramp but in the end you pay 2 mana to get a depleted sigil or 4 mana to get 2 depleted sigils, meanwhile Xenan Initiation is great removal, great buff and combos great with Dark Return (Returned units still have killer), Crownwatch Press-Gang (destiny units still have killer) and Auric Interrogator since it buffs it to 5 ATK.
Also feels weird suggesting this after I mentioned Setback in the first place but it comes online way too late in this build since it requires 2 shadow, I'm running 4 Annihilate and 2 Suffocate instead.
I'm running a 4th Sword and an Azindel in my market replacing SSF (bit winmore?) and Great Parliament.
No I wouldn't remove find the way, influence reqs are too hard to hit without it. Also it's good with merchants and Alessi. Inititiation is good, but there are only so many situational cards you can afford to play.
Why Pred Instinct over Twilight Hunt? Isn't free Nightfall kinda deeeeece!? You are running revenge units after all.
EDIT: Is Sword of Unity worth slamming despite the intense influence req? Y0tta was having some fun with that on stream.
DOUBLE EDIT BATMAN: How about Passage of Aeons in the market? This setup will run into stalls a lot and doesnt have the overwhelm + killer option to break it.

I like playing Passage of Eons in the market but we already have Banish, so for now I'll be trying Striking Snake Formation as a board stall breaker.
