Had a blast playing this deck to grind to masters. Have been maintaining a consistent rank 4-6 over the past 40 games with the deck. There are a ton of small interactions and ways to sequence your cards so keep a look out. Any suggestions for good alternatives to Eldling of the final hour? Been doing ok with the deck so far but I dont have any eldlings so I just put 4x lethrai marauder, drawing them has been underwhelming so far though.
Fun deck and getting the severing to kelmak two or three times in a game is always satisfying.

If you happen to have Felrauk that could be a fun option to try. I'm not certain exactly what would be the best option for subs, but something that is a hero within the 2-3 cost range and synergizes in some way with the gameplan.

I must be missing something about Gustrider - it isn't clicking for me. I understand that discarding cards isn't a bad thing for this deck, but we want to do it *before* an attack for NomNom. The onslaught mechanic doesn't work for this.

While a bit slower, I think that Lipa is a better choice. Obviously, she is a vastly superior flying unit. Also, her hunt can trigger Darkwater Vines ultimate which feeds NomNom. Finally, she's another Kelmak's Spear fetch and she carries it well.

Also, I'd go Vara Limitless over Krull in the market.

When you are able to discard Severin or Kelmak's Spear then reanimate them after discarding them to Gustrider you essentially end up drawing 2 cards with potentially upside since you can bring those cards into play without paying their power costs! This is an amazing deal that should not be overlooked xd.

Also, Krull >>> Vara Limitless in the market.

Nico has not been doing its thing for me in this list. It being unable to block makes me sad against aggro, and I can almost never get a face attack in with the spear so Pit Trap ends up the only way to rebuy him from the void. Am I misunderstanding the lines with him?

Ye, it is generally just a loot target for gusty/trap that can sometimes generate other value while also being a Hero to proc spear->severin in a pinch. i have found multiple nico hands to be awkward so i could see reducing the amount to 2

Question: How do you answer this deck outside of Gavel?

Obviously killing a relic that recurs itself isn't going to work, and Pick Clean doesn't seem good enough. I'm trying to find an answer in Time/Primal/Shadow.

Edit: I forgot that this was a Throne deck. I was looking at Expedition, where the only option seems to be Pick Clean.
