Unfortunately, despite being the reason it happened, I missed pensfans'
Ageless Knight stream. You win some, you lose some. This is an idea I had after the stream, when I checked out some of the decks there.
The idea is to get value out of the Knight by using him to boost up our armor, letting our relic weapons hang out and take down a ton of threats.
Combrei Lawmage does a lot of work here, forcing the opponent to put down just one unit at a time for us to whack. He also does his usual great job being frustrating on all other fronts. With all the ways to gain armor,
Steelwarren Assassin is a natural fit. He's a good target to put a Versatile weapon on thanks to his Quickdraw, and the damage adds up quick.
Hojan, Crownbreaker gives us another way to Bolster and ramps us when he gets a weapon.
I tried
Adamantine Pangolin in the spot that
Jadehorn occupies now, but I really prefer getting 3 armor on Summon instead of potentially getting more while attacking. The Warcry, playing a Shade on death, and double-attack ability are also big selling points. Our other 3-drops include most of our weapon selection, which is designed to be flexible. I like
Bartholo's Keepsake, but you can definitely play around with it.
The 4-drops are our big enforcers. Obviously
Furious Magniventris benefits A LOT from all the armor we rack up. Our deck's namesake,
Rolant, the Iron Fist, gives us a bunch of Deadly fliers when we punch things with weapons. If we have a Knight out, each kill heals the weapon when the Valkyrie gets played!
Market is mostly just big payoffs. The most important tool is probably
The Nightmare Gates, which also counts as Bolstering. It turns any weapon into a really big threat. With constant armor replenishment, that should handle most problems in your way. The rest are just value plays, feel free to twiddle. I haven't played Plating besides inscribing it yet, but the others have come in handy.
Edit: For the market, I haven't used Know Thy Enemy, Gates of Hope, or Stormhalt plating yet. I swapped out the plating for that voidbound sweeper as an emergency reset button.
