call the rod

Hey there,

Here is a version of the rod deck I came up with on ladder. It's a loooot of fun !!!! ICARIAAAA DUNK TURN 4

One of the funniest deck I had to play for a long time...


I took the idea from a list of bafixen wich was very different but with the same concept.
I wasn't very convinced by the original version because it was dying too much either because the deck was killing himself or because the opponent got a bigger board i couldn't remove.

So I tuned it to make it not only relying of casting answer the call turn 4 because it was highhhhly unstable.

That's why you can see some baby icarias there to help you ramp. As well it's a valid target to put the rod on (even if you on't do it a lot because it's incredibly slow). But with the baby icaria actually allowed you to cast your threats in the hard way a bit quicker, affording another gameplan if your hand is too cluncky (as it happens from time to time) ^^

Second of all I have also put the harsh rules. I know, a wrath in a deck which plays two and three drops is not correct in a lot of ways but here is the thing. If you can stick a activ bulletshaper on board on turn 4, you can discard the harsh rule to make 6mana for the call. So it's a way of recycling it. But if you get those slow hands, the harsh rule helps a lot to not die and get anough time to hard cast your stuff.

The other changes is the adding of the wasps instead of vanquishes, because it's another flying unit for the rod and in some occasions works a lot better against aegis removal as this deck doesn't really have tools to get through them.

The riz spot is a bit weird, I didn't really know what to put as I didn't want another soulfire drake, I thought i bit more of lifegain/removal would be nice. It might even be better to put another Rizahn, Greatbow Master instead of something else.
