This deck is basically a ramp deck that consistently closes out games with a horde of 4/4 owls.
How does this happen you may ask?
Aid of the Hooru
The Great Parliament
"But Tel, those things cost way too much. How could I possibly gain enough power to cast those?"
Power Stone
Awaken the Ages
Minotaur Ambassador
Vapor Hut
A New Tomorrow
"If I'm just casting ramp spells, how do I interact with all of those permanents my opponent is playing?"
Permafrost
Equivocate
Hailstorm
Harsh Rule
End of the Story
Sword of the Sky King
I highly enjoy playing this deck, as it plays a control game just long enough to swing to either 12 or 20 mana, then start chaining off aid of the hooru back to back with a great parliament thrown in and call it a day.
Tips:
- Vapor Hut hits the top power card, so not just sigils. This card is absurd and is the first card we grab from the market almost every time. We play 12 scouting power, so keep this in mind if it is able to be played. It's often correct to take an extra turn off eating hits and ramping/controlling the top of the deck than wiping the board. We do have quite a few ways to gain armor and health so we can get pretty low before having to react to the board state.
- Using A New Tomorrow sets up powerless draws so you can cast Aid into more gas. This is usually how the "combo win" is obtained. Also, count the number of scout triggers you have after casting A New Tomorrow. Sometimes you can hit 5-6, so it lets you look pretty deep to find the specific card you need to keep the pressure on.
- Awaken the Ages is frequently held until it can be cast for 6 or 9 power rather than wasting it on 3. Only do this if you need a turn 4 board wipe.
- Using The Great Parliament as a chump blocker/way to bait out a counter during the early game is a nice way to ensure you make it to your board wipes, and eventually start slamming Aids.
This deck is a work in progress and will be updated frequently. I will post the changes here as I make them in-game.
Thanks and I hope you enjoy the deck if you decide to play it!
