Information

I've been iterating on this list for a couple of weeks, and just hit rank 15 in Masters. The general game plan is to get on the board early with your quality 2 and 3 power units, use your cheap interaction to get ahead on tempo in the midgame, then finish your opponent off with flyers or by sticking a Deepforged Plate. Deepforged Plate and ultimates give you tools to win games that go longer.

I'll say a bit about some of the most common matchups on ladder:

fire aggro: good/great
You have a ton of solid 2 power blockers to blank their 2/1s, as well as plenty of cheap interaction in torch, permafrost, and finest hour. Borderlands Waykeeper is especially good, Shelterwing Rider is very difficult for them to break through, and Deepforged Plate is an excellent finisher because it lets you end the game quickly without letting your guard down. Rally Queen can sometimes beat you if they go wide enough, but just about any functional hand should beat Skycrag.

time midrange: great/decent, depending on build
Time decks have a very tough time beating a deepforged plate that sticks, because anything you put it on should outsize their units and make it difficult for them to set up good attacks, while still being able to swing through their board with flying or quickdraw. Even in games where you don't draw plate, you can still compete by getting a faster start and lining up the right interaction with the right targets. Elysian is the easiest matchup, because they literally can't interact with deepforged plate at all. The Praxis matchup is also good, because they also have trouble with a plated unit, but they do run a couple of answers in shatterglass mage and praxis displacer, and they are also better at turning the corner and killing you quickly. Xenan is the toughest of the Time decks to face, because it has enough removal to disrupt you then kill you with bigger units. I haven't fought much Combrei, but the matchup depends a lot on their specific configuration.

armory: unfavorable
They have a better endgame, and a lot of removal to get them there. In particular, relic weapons are good at just killing your aegis dudes. You usually aren't fast enough to really pressure them, and when you do get a good start you have to watch out for harsh rule.

chalice: even?
I don't have a ton of experience with this matchup, so it's tough to say, as the matchup can play out pretty differently depending on your draws. They really want to draw chalice early, both to make their dorky ground dudes big enough to profitably block ChaGlo/Vadius and to dig for removal/silence for your fliers and/or dudes with weapons. You can play around Harsh Rule pretty well, because a lot of your attackers are good enough to ignore their dorky units and be threats on their own, and with all of the aegis, you'll often have something left over post wipe anyway. I can say for sure that this matchup is quite winnable.

Tenken Eternal Version: 1.26.3
Ha, I pulled 2x Kothon and 2x Vadius in the same week. And a Deepforged Plate today. Still a bunch of legendary crafts, but I'll keep this in mind. Too bad I am short on some rares too.

I really like this deck, it's feels fresh to play and I haven't seen anything else like it on the ladder. Went 8-0 playing it last night in Gold 1 / Diamond 3. Was thinking that Spellshield Architect might be a consideration for this deck as a 2 of over the 1 of Protect and maybe one of the Shelterwings. Would have good synergy with all the endurance 2 drops without Aegis as well as refreshing Shelterwing, while being another Aegis body as well.

Thanks for the comment. I might try out a couple of Architects, although at this point I'm probably just going to wait for set 3 to come out.

I think that deck is a trash, all the creature except 2 and all the weapons need double cost color. U are all the combat looking for the 3 double colours.
