This is a JPS deck that I have been tinkering with for about 3-4 weeks. My best rank so far this season is 63, and my overall win rate from D3 is about 67%.
This JPS midrange deck is fantastic at attacking most meta-games and even the inclusion of
In Cold Blood hasn't harmed the deck too much. The major attraction to this deck is the core of it is just exceptionally powerful, this core consists of;
Strategize
Wisdom of the Elders
Valkyrie Enforcer
Shelterwing Rider
Harsh Rule
Inquisitor Makto
Black-Sky Harbringer
Eilyn, Clan Mother
This frame gives you the basis of a deck that can be tweaked to attack any meta-game you encounter. My current build is designed to deal with Feln, Armory and other midrange decks. This is why you see the inclusion of hand disruption in the form of both
Sabotage and
Devastating Setback with the free win potential of both
Rain of Frogs and
Azindel's Gift. Alongside this you also play
Hooru Pacifier to make like harder for any armory deck with some very good splash damage against Argenport.
However if you're playing against a more aggressive meta-game
Sabotage becomes
Permafrost,
Rain of Frogs becomes
Lightning Strike,
Devastating Setback and
Azindel's Gift become
Hailstorm. Depending on how you want to place yourself you can also play
Unseen Commando over the
Hooru Pacifier or
Valkyrie Enforcer, however I have found that this mix of 3 drop creatures to be very good.
In terms of how to play the deck, it rewards a solid understand of positioning in match-ups. You need to understand your role in any given game, whether you are the pure control deck, the disruptive beatdown deck or anything in between. You have the tools to win any match-up but sequencing your threats to line-up against your opponents game place is the key to success.
Have fun, I hope you have as much success as I have.
100% of the games I've played with this deck (about 20) I go behind my rival, when I reach 5-6 sigils I can counter my rival and win or simply loose, even games I controled the board so hard I've lost the game playing top deck vs my rival
The deck is not well positioned right now, I'm probably rather be on a time-based midrange deck or Argenport atm.
You can play a few other things in that slot. Basically anything that hits hard, ideally in the air, and also ideally can affect the board.
The new Draka Works, or even Sword of the Skyking. I can drop you a list of potential replacements if you want :)
The idea of Amilli, Cloudmarshal is interesting, however triple justice is a steep influence requirement. See how it goes and let me know :)
Aggro can be a issue with this deck. My few losses were incurred directly from aggro decks. As well as getting bad RNG for a match. But overall a really good deck.
