This is just a silly deck that I've been working with that seems to have passable results, though now with all of the aggro that's out there, it may be a good idea to switch out something for some
Hailstorms.
The basic idea of this deck is so hold off until you can start landing units. We do this with
Ice Bolt,
Permafrost, and
Equivocate. Catch up mechanics include
Stormhalt Knife and
Harsh Rule. When you can finally start dropping things like
Throne Warden and
Sheriff Marley these really help with the pain (Marley can make as many blockers as you want over time, and Warden gives you a health boost.)
The idea is to get a unit or two to stick and then use
Divining Rod to cheat out more Aegis units. If you manage to get
Svetya, Merciful Orene with the rod, she still procs her summon effect albeit after all the units flip. Once you do this, it's very hard for the opponent to recover when you drop 8/8 merchants, 10/10 wardens, elites, and Marleys. Heaven forbid if you flop even more Svetyas!
Things to keep in mind: Units with Aegis still count as having it even if it pops (such as from Vara or just being targeted). Your own units' aegis does not stop a friendly
Harsh Rule. Every unit in the deck has Aegis, so you can Rod anything. If you lose Aegis from a
Shelterwing Rider, don't fret. Just play
Korovyat Palace, drop the
Withstand on it, and whamo! Aegis restored. Enjoy your new 9/8 flying aegis. If you have
Honor of Claws and
Privilege of Rank in hand, discard the Privilege to get free Justice Sigils. It does happen that a rod will discard a
Privilege of Rank off the top. When it does, you still draw the sigils.
Best of all, this deck requires no legendary cards. All the ones in the list are from Adventure Paths.
