Fall of Argenport made Xenan Killers a Tier deck again 1. This is my latest version. As usual you can find a full deck tech here on our website:
Deck Tech
The ShiftstonedEternal Power Calculator is a deck-building tool that visualizes your odds of drawing enough Influence and Power based specifically on the cards found in your deck.
Thanks for the list. I don't play Eternal a ton but I've found this deck very effective against all levels and decks. Temporal control is what I've had the most trouble against but I think it's mostly been due to mediocre/bad draws more than the deck itself.
I've been running is -1 Carnosaur, Suffocate, and Temple Standard and +3 Thief Pick, providing breakthrough for Teacher and some extra card draw on its own or with Interrogator. Plus it's real nice on Sandstorm Titan if they lack removal. Any opinion on that card one way or another? I do find that I swap it with Merchant a lot of the time, but obviously that's not a big loss.
(Mostly I have a thing against directly copying someone else's deck, haha, so that's why I've tossed it in there, but the deck has worked out well with that minor tweak.)
Hey yeah the deck is pretty well rounded and Temporal is likely a tough matchup since u depend a lot on Interrogator and Dawnwalker recursion and their desert marshal stops that pretty well.
Can't recommend that. Thief's Pick is a pretty bad card unlike the cards u cut.
I tried cutting favors for some more standards and sigils to try and make the deck play out a bit smoother (2 cabal standard 2 sigils) since the deck doesnt need it much to deal with aegis and the amount of things it kills isnt always that high and it is very slow.
Should this list be playing some number of Ayan? I want to think so, because it does so much for the faction pair and hedges against some problems with aggro currently. Thoughts?
No. Ayan is not very good but I talk about that in more detail in the deck tech if u havent watched it i recommend doing so. the deck also really doesnt have an aggro problem,
I had everything but Alheds, so I played three Sauropod and one Thundering Kerasaur. Kerasaur was extremely underwhelming and Worldbearer would have been nearly equal. Five and no death cantrip Vs six and death cantrip if it gets vanquished. You need to craft the first Alhed at least, the spot would have been better as Twilight Hunt or Find the Way instead of dinos.
Initiation in the market is insane because merchant + Alhed gets Sauropods right away, or if you draw the other three-drops, you get initiation to give Dawnwalker killer or Interrogator five power. Plus Auralian Merchant ramps, so even starting Auralian Merchant into Dawnwalker+Initiation sets you up to win most unit match-ups.
And for those unsure about crafting Alheds, imagine this pretty common situation. Play Auralian Merchant, get Sauropod, play Sauropod on four, it dies, Alhed+Dark Return and now you have two 12/10 Sauropods and a 5/4 still. If you get the chance, put your 12/10 Sauropod on top and draw two 24/20 Sauropods to go with the 18/16 Alhed. If you're able up give Sauropod killer, it's just crazy.
Protip: save Alhed until you have Dark Return or you need to make a play and have nothing else. Getting it killed immediately feels bad when you could have a 6/6 Ripknife, 8/8 Teacher or 12/14 Titan.
Solid deck from what I've seen. Xenan Initiation hasn't been a card I've been pulling from the market very often, what are your thoughts about replacing it with one Xenan Obelisk? Do you think the meta is too relic hatey right now for even a one-of?
Then you likely haven't played it a lot yet. Inititation int he market is one of the go to fetches actually especially when u have dawnwalker or interrogator. I discuss Obelisk in the deck in the Deck Tech video as well as plenty of other aspects of the deck. I'd recommend you watch it.
Prolly just variance. What did u struggle with? In my experience I mainly had issues with proactive icaria decks of various kinds. the rest seemed fine to good. And i doubt u only play vs proactive icaria decks in diamond. aside from the fact that there isnt really "in diamond since I play vs plenty of diamond people myself int he Top 100 since rank says little about who you face in this game due to Elo and MMR being seperate.
Just got the killer Sauropod and Alhed combo off in a single turn...it was glorious! Thanks for the deck 🙂 Running into a few Icaria decks and this deck literally eats her up!
Haha thats great. you are welcome.
I actually found that proactive icaria decks are the worst matchup for the deck. Icaria control like Iblue however is a good matchup as u could see in the videos.

I'll let ManuS suggest some possible replacements.
