Just made it to Masters with this deck. First time with any Icaria Blue Variant, so I am quite happy.
Let's explain some cards:
For
Card Draw we got 3x
Levitate , 3x
Seek Power , 4x
Strategize , 1x
Wisdom of the Elders , 1x
Reforge , 2x
Rise to the Challenge , 1x
Staff of Stories .
3x
Seek Power is risky but I wanted to squeeze in one more 'real' card into the deck and considering the amount of additional draw we have, I rarely got punished for this.
Levitate has been awesome for me. Often times just a cycle-card and sometimes will remove an aegis from an enemy-minion.
Reforge is just really powerful. Hard for me to put in more than 1 because of its clunkiness. But when you draw it later in the game, it can finish them off.
Staff of Stories has performed better than expected. Running a lot of removal and high-health blockers allows this card to be really effective more often than not. Put
Hone on it and smile.
For
Removal we got 3x
Vanquish , 3x
Eilyn's Choice , 4x
Hailstorm and 4x
Harsh Rule
Of course the weapons also count as removal, but we are looking at the spells here. They don't really need too much explaining since most of them are absolute staples.
4x
Hailstorm is questionable but helpful when laddering because of all the Aggro out there. This card has won many games for me against Rakano, Skycrag and Stonescar. They will often times run out of gas if you clear enough.
For
Minions we got only
Icaria, the Liberator and
Shelterwing Rider .
The thought behind this is that Icaria's Buff will only hit really insane cards.
Shelterwing Rider makes the cut, because it has 5 Health and requires more than 1 card to answer! Even after losing it's Aegis it can block a lot of cards.
it doesn't die to
Auric Runehammer and
Mortar . It can block
Bandit Queen , Viscious Highwayman ,
Jotun Feast-Caller ,
Black-Sky Harbinger , not to speak of all the smaller minions and/or bigger minions which have 5 health as well like
Champion of Cunning ,
Icaria, the Liberator ,
Rindra, the Duskblade . Just a really good blocker plus you will not be sad when Icaria's buff hits it.
For
Weapons we got
Sword of Icaria ,
Auric Runehammer ,
Hone ,
Staff of Stories ,
Starsteel Daisho ,
Molten Fist .
Sword of Icaria for early game stabilization. On some occasions can put on a lot of face-pressure when they don't run many minions.
Auric Runehammer still a really good card. With
Jotun Feast-Caller on the rise and all these super powerful Aggro-Cards on the loose, an absolute staple card.
Staff of Stories is surprisingly good. Can be a dead card in your hand at times, so running more than one is questionable. Buff this up and it is insane.
Starsteel Daisho is one of the possible finishers. Bring it back with
Reforge and win.
Molten Fist is really good. Can punch through pretty much everything initially; buffed up quite unstoppable.
Let's talk
Hone . I feel like this card is underappreaciated. It has performed really well for me. It can win the game on the spot when put on almost any weapon. Even if you play it as a 3/3 weapon to stay alive, you won't be unhappy. I like cards with options and versatility, this provides.
All in all quite fun deck for me personally, got some spice in the list which always helps.
I am very open to any suggestions as I feel that some accurate tinkering of this deck for the ever-changing meta can always compete with the best.
Diamond 1 to Master = 6-0 record with this deck .
Gr8 job mate .
Keep it up .
**Sometimes kinda weird with only shelterwings**
But besides that this deck is fun and good with the meta
