I don't have Cykalis yet, do you think that Venom Rider is a decent enough substitute until I craft Cykalis?

Very interesting, I love this, Ive been tooling around with combrei aggro variations with cykalisand Hojan, but I hadn't tried serene Meditant. Is he worth the craft in this or is he replaceable? On Cykalis, would you say he's a better include than Genetrix, who was standard in these lists for awhile?

Genetrix, in addition to making a large beater, was used to get you to higher power more consistently for things like Sword, Vanq blade, and Siraf. The pledge cards now fills that role somewhat while providing a reasonable body. Hojan too still gives you a way to ramp.

I disagree with playing market cards in an aggro deck. It just slows your deck so much that you give the opponent another extra 1 turn for his outs.
