"It's All Your Fault!"

I'm new to this game but having fun with it so far. Basically, this is what I've used to get through the Gauntlet. You will probably need the Hailstorm card from the Dead Reckoning campaign to make this deck click. Keep in mind that this is just the Pauper list I used. So the card slots are not ideal, but can get the job done. I think this deck can go Throne with just a few tweaks and adds.

When I started out, I had gotten some of the legendary cards you see on this list. So I built around that. I hardly added any cards. But did splurge on 2 Severin of the Dark because it really wins games. Also a few common and uncommon.

I looked at a Feln Burn list that I really liked. This is inspired by that. So it has a control shell. But I noticed Gauntlet could really punish you for playing that. Many games the CPU doesn't even have removal, or you just need a blocker. Blitrok, Linrei's Listener, Linrei's Stranger are some of the first legendaries I pulled. But these cards can win games. They also add to that curve going up to Severin of the Dark. Sometimes Blitrok is just used to grab an invoked card and die to the overflow of removal the opponent has. That's fine. Blitrok is a great card for when you don't have many legendaries, because she can keep turning out more legendary cardsnfor you via her ability.

Originally my Feln Burn deck had cards like Channel the Tempest, and Nametaker, but I realized gauntlet needed more mid-range answers. That and Gauntlet doesn't use a lot of market hate so you can get away with 4 Severin.

Also Gauntlet likes to play a lot of low blitzy creatures. This is why there are extra cheap sweeps like Lightning Storm, and Devastating Setback. I used to run Mug, but it was often a dead card. So the Devastating setback is a good fit. The hand removal helps because of lack of cards like Turn to Seed.

I noticed the pressure was so bad in Gauntlet to have early answers that I swapped some of the cheap dig cards slots like Trailblaze, for Extract. Lifelink+removal+scout=Extract. Because the deck had the previous issue of being on the ropes a lot. You'd use a dig spell only to find another dig spell. Lame. The deck runs a lot of shadow sources for the one of At Any Cost combo, so Extract, and Stealth Strike are easy to use. This is also why there's a split; 1 Strategize, 1 Cull the Deck . Because sometimes you're pressed to find Primal influence early.

So How does it play?

It has won me many Gauntlets. When I got 3 in a row, I thought, ok, that's pretty post worthy. The Gauntlet boss often has something extremely dis-advantageous to you. ESPECIALLY because you're creature light. Also, often the Gauntlet just god hands so hard you can't do anything but jam the "You've got to be kidding" emote at the CPU 10 times. But that will happen to any deck you're using. Not much can be done aboit that. Thos deck relies heavily on your input. It rewards smart players. Nit the kind of deck to just drop units and attack.

Condemn is a really fun 1-of. The market choices for that 1 slot are pretty obvious. Very Gauntlet minded. Usually you grab Edict of Makkar. Great part about this deck is removal abundance. Often you'll get kills with Vara' favor and Condemn. These are also used to remove Aegis sometimes.

Prodigious Sorcery, and ReRead were cut to 1-ofs, to fit into that Gauntlet mid-range feel. For more answers and less late game combo complexity. I noticed early draw of Prodigious sorcery and Re-Read = bad. Also Savage Incursion.

Prodigious Sorcery can grab Stealth Strike's from the discard for bonus value. Turning it into a 1 for 3.

Severin of the Dark combos with both Forbidden Research and Prize Sow (in the Market). Usually I wait until I can drop Severin then a dual power card on the same turn. Because he gets insta removed sometimes. This way you still get a lot of value from having him removed. If you have played either of those 2 relics before Severin, you're in value town - living in Eternal Christmas.

Hope you enjoy the deck.
