Honor the Hero

Deck I’ve been fiddling with that aims to play with Hero of the People and Honor the Fallen to great effect.

Depending on your opening hand and what your opponent’s opening looks like, it’s a lot of times better to hold off on dropping Hero until you can drop Piercing Grief or Crownwatch Paladin at the same time to help her stick. The beauty of having Honor in the deck though is that you don’t have to hold everything back until you have a Hero. Sometimes it’s more beneficial to start collecting abilities in the void, either through them dying or putting them there with Quarry. Then you can make an instant Hero later.

Honor also has a couple of other targets that can win games for you, the primary one obviously being Inquisitor Makto. Reyna, the Unwavering is another fun target for her added resilience against shadow and Jekk, the Bounty Hunter can be a Honor target as well as a quickdraw donor and silence/stun when in a pinch. Icaria, Valkyrie Captain is even a good target once you hit 6 justice influence.

Display of Ambition is also a super flexible card here. Kill threats, add overwhelm to your Heroes and ability pool, or pull Heroes or ability donors out of the void.
