I made this deck because I love mono color decks, and saw great potential with the "renown" mechanic, as well as "empower".
The objective of this deck is to play cheap units with good empower abilities, while playing sigils (or multiple) per turn to bring the pain! The combination of
District Infantry and
Hojan, Crownbreaker bring fantastic synergy to early game, with large damage coming in potentially early. Combo that with cards like
Finest Hour and
Reinvigorate, you can even further increase the damage (keep in mind Hojan, when a spell is played on him, will play an additional sigil).
Icaria, Valkyrie Captain also generates sigils, while providing a later game buff to itself, and it has flying (Do I hear POTENTIAL?!).
Siraf's Beacon is very good with these as well, as if you have 3 units attacking, another sigil is played, further pumping your attackers. I tried to find a few other units to toss in, and ended up with
Veteran Mercenary. 4/4 for 4 isn't bad, with a random card upside. Generally I've found the card created is quite good and benefits the deck.
Telut, Queen's Hand has been added to even FURTHER increase this decks potential, with a crazy ability that basically ends games. Seeing as there is room to ramp up your sigil base, it's not terribly difficult to achieve this.
Toss some solid removal cards, as well as a couple decent sigil ramp attachments, like
Fur Hat and
Copperhall Bracers and you're laughing!
Defiance,
Vanquish,
Avigraft,
Citywide Ban, and
Harsh Rule will keep you more than ready for whatever is thrown at you. Deck removal, field wipes, and low cost removal work wonders.
Who has a deck without markets anymore?
Now admittedly, I kind of threw
Valkyrie Enforcer into the mix, I figured it's silence ability, as well as being able to combo with
Icaria, Valkyrie Captain worked. It hasn't let me down yet.
Auric Runehammer and
Sword of the Sky King are very good weapons, for obvious reasons.
Challenge by Law has worked so far, the silence all enemies has saved me more times than I can count, and being able to kill something is an added bonus.
BUT what really helps this deck, is
Mantle of Justice. Scaling with your sigils, it's obvious as to why this works so well. Most of the time I end up using it on one of my
Winchest Merchant or
Icaria, Valkyrie Captain so I can swing in the air for a load of damage.
Mantle of Justice is probably the best market peice in there. It's the most easily utilized at a measly 4 cost, while being able to buff flyers or trigger
Hojan, Crownbreaker renown ability.
In summary, this deck is incredibly fun. I've very much enjoyed every game I've played, even when I've lost. I personally average 7 wins in 10 ranked matches, and 11 wins in 15 ranked matches.
While I will say this deck is relatively new, I think it has alot of potentials, and would love to see more people's take on it!
Hope you enjoy!
