This is a budget Xenan lifeforce deck. The life gain should give you some longevity against aggro, until your units can can start get going. Prefer to use
Xenan Initiation on
Cult Aspirant, as her Overwhelm means that any left-over damage will hit face. Also, with
Dark Return, you can bring her back on the board, with her Killer ability ready and win the game by using her against a small creature. You can easily do 5-6 damage that way.
Rapid Shot will let you eliminate big fatties with your own buffed units.
You should include more
Beckoning Lumen if you have them.
Ancient Bauble will give you consistent lifeforce triggers every turn.
Shadow spells will let you control the board.
Pillar of Amar is a good choice, because by the time you get to play him, most silences and removal would have been directed against your lifeforce units.
Sabotage can be really useful against any deck. If you are fighting aggro, remove their dangerous spells/weapons and card draw. If you are against mid-range, remove their Harsh Rule, drawing mechanics (void or deck) and weapons. I've listed targets in order of priority.
Cover of Darkness will help you in case of a stalemate. Your Aspirants, Slashers and Amaneras should have gained enough attack/life to one-shot your opponent.
The sideboard contains cards you should consider putting in your deck if you have them in your collection. You can remove Rapid Shot, Sabotage, and Pillar for these cards instead. Particularly
Katra, the Devoted should be a must x4 in your deck.
Oasis Seeker works well with Katra, but the condition of his ability makes him vulnerable.
You shouldn't have a problem with mana, but if you feel you do, then swap in a couple
Seek Power.
I haven't added any legendaries, since this is a budget deck. As with any Time deck, you should add
Sandstorm Titan if you have him or can craft him. He's an excellent counter against any aggro deck.
Duskwalker is a good card to have in case you have mana issues. He's also very useful in countering aggro creatures.
Bloodcall Invoker is a very good choice for this kind of deck. However, he's in the sideboard, because the deck currently lacks big ways to gain life, due to its budget nature. If you do get cards that have massive lifesteal/lifegain abilities, then definitely include him in place of Pillars.
