Hello newbie. Welcome to Eternal :-)

Mono Fire is great way to start your journey here. It's a fine deck on the lower parts of the ladder and can grind the Gauntlet pretty good as well. There are plenty of decks that can beat it, but it can certainly hold it's own. Plus it is cheap to build, pretty easy to play and a lot of FUN. Because the games are so fast, you can learn fast too. Small mistakes do matter a lot, but they will often be obvious in hindsight, so you can improve your game.

I believe the key to grinding is consistency, so I have included 8 cards that can plunder. They are very valuable in a low-curve aggro deck because they will convert unwanted power cards into more draws. And can also turn a 2 power hand into a 3 power hand.

The deck is pretty straightfoward, but still, some play tips:

1) Never hold units in hand. Cast all of them. There is no such thing as "overcommitting" in mono fire aggro. We win before they can play their sweepers, or we lose and go on to the next game. Only hold back on your removal and pump spells until the best possible opportunity. Autotread counts as removal. It's almost never a good idea to cast this if you cannot use it right away.

2) In addition to this, the deck is built to take advantage of having an empty hand with League Explorer and D'Angolo Houndmaster. Autotread can help you to get emptyhanded too.

3) Removal removes blockers. Only go face if you can win that turn. Opposing lifesteal units are hard to beat and must be burned down.

4) The pump spells Scythe Slash and Inoa's Fury are decent on on Rakano Outlaw, pretty good good on Sanity Scorcher and are very good on Passionate Stonehammer. So do not Berserk, until you can pump.

5) It is acceptable to play Battlefront Dasher on turn 1, but never with contract. You need to curve out and use all you power to play units every turn. Dasher can be contracted on later turns, of course and is particularly good with Houndmaster in this way.

6) Houndmaster has Valor AND Quickdraw. Some opponents find this hard to evaluate. Be not affraid to attack him into large blockers, especially if you have (or can bluff) a pump spell.

7) Autotread + Ankle Cutter is a mini 'combo'

8) Hands with only 1 power are redraws, even if you have an Fire Etchings.

9) Most hands with 2 or 3 power are keepable. If you have not redrawn yet, try to go for a hand that can use all your power 3 turns in a row.

10) Some hands with 4 power are keepable, if you can plunder, and/or can curve out. Your best start is: Oni Ronin into League Explorer, into Prism Golem OR D'Angolo Houndmaster + removal / pump.

11) Hands with 5 power or more are never keepable.

12) Run the deck throught the Gauntlet a couple of times before you try to climb the ladder with it.

I tried to stay as budget as possible, but Houdmaster and Scorcher are so insane, they cannot be excluded. If you really must, replace the Scorchers with 1 more Autotread and 1 more Ankle Cutter.

It is debatable wheter or not a deck like this should have a Market. I like it, but I am more of a midrange player at heart. It gives you options to push the final points of damage through.

So you can also opt for no Market and ditch the Etchings. I that case you should probably run some Fast Spells that cost 1, since Torch is slow and our pump spells cost 2. Also Fast damage spells work very nicely with Quickdraw. The classic option is Char and you can never go wrong with that, but Bullseye seems pretty good in the current meta as well. Even though it cannot go face.. Dinosaur Nest is played a lot in Throne too and it is nice to be able to kill relic weapons like a Stormhalt Knife that many players have in their Market.

If you have more shiftstone to spend, the first upgrade I would make is to get 4 Emblem of Shavka. This is also a good investment beacuse it is played in many other aggro decks. Beyond that you should probably start looking at adding Primal or Shadow.

EDITED: because of feedback that Campaigns are a higher barrier to entry than rares, I have replaced Jekk, Mercenary Hunter with Sanity Scorcher. Also League Explorer is relevant in many variations of aggro decks beyond mono-red, and Jekk is not.
