1st picked Beckoning Lumen over nothing. 2nd picked Gun Down over Bring Down. 3rd picked Mortar over nothing. 4th picked Hipshot. Fire was definitely open.
This is the most aggressive deck I've ever drafted in Eternal. I normally avoid these decks for fear of everything falling apart with a slow draw. But it does have decent reach. I anticipate 3-4 wins.
G1: Mulliganed into a decent hand. I started with Grenadin Drones and Oni Ronin. My opponent started with Xenan Destroyer, which forced me not to attack for one turn until it traded with my Clan Hero. I traded Weather the Storm and Pummel with his next two blockers leaving me with 5 units to his 0. My opponent conceded the next turn.
G2: Good hand. My opponent’s Bold Adventurer kept my stranger and Blinkwolf at home until my Stormcaller enabled me to start killing his blockers after combat. His Striped Araktodon started racing me. His Explorer Emeritus drew 2 cards before I found enough power for Gun Down. I was losing the race but had drawn more units and tricks so I snuck in incremental damage. He found Dark Return for the Explorer again so I had to attack through his large blockers. Fortunately, this left him at 4 life. My Stormcaller and Outlands Sniper off the top were lethal.
G3: Good hand. I topdecked Oni Ronin, which led to a sparked Clan Hero. When I had Hipshot for his first blocker on turn 4, he conceded.
G4: Decent hand. I started with East Wind Herald and Yeti Snowslinger. He started with Argent Soldier. We traded damage. He played Amber Ring and activated it next turn. When I Snowballed it, he responded with Finest Hour, which I countered with Temper. This placed him far behind in tempo. His blockers were the same size as my units so I kept swinging. He got slightly favorable trades but took 4-5 damage at a time. Eventually he was down to 11 life. I had Rebel Illuminator, Hipshot, and Mortar in hand. I hit him with the East Wind Herald twice before burning him out.
G5: Mulliganed into a 2 power hand. Didn’t draw another power for 7 turns.
G6: Mulliganed into a 2 power hand. Didn’t draw another power for 4 turns.
G7: Good hand. My opponent started with Bladekin Apprentice. I played East Wind Herald. He used Rally to kill it. I followed up with Clan Hero then Outlands Sniper. I had Gun Down for his 4/4 and Jarral’s Frostkin for his Cannonbearer. My Rebel Illuminator guaranteed lethal.
G8: Mulliganed into a sketchy hand: 2 Fire sigils, Oni Ronin, and Primal units. Drew the Primal sigil on turn 3, which allowed for warping Blinkwolf and playing Snowcrust Yeti. I traded my Oni Ronin and Temper to kill his Xenan Destroyer. My Outlands Sniper cleared his next blocker. He kept playing one small unit per turn so I overwhelmed him quickly.
G9: My opponent was stuck on Primal influence. He managed to kill quite a few of my units despite that but he eventually ran out of Primal units.
I was fairly lucky and tended to draw removal within 1-2 turns of needing it, but overall the deck was aggressive and had great reach.
