My updated SkycragDeckWins since I think it once again finally is a Tier 1 deck.
As usual you can find a comprehensive deck tech over on our Team Website or my Channel:

The ShiftstonedEternal Power Calculator is a deck-building tool that visualizes your odds of drawing enough Influence and Power based specifically on the cards found in your deck.
Manu, been loving this deck since you posted it. Would you still consider it an ideal aggro deck in the current meta? Any changes beside the pummel change you mentioned below?
Well since we just got a new set we don't really have a metagame. we have a wild west eldorado. so pick your poison :)
But hyper aggressive linear aggro tends to do well in hese so u should be at least fine. I would look at Chunk Chunk in some number and maybe the new one drop yeti. Not sure how and over what but those seem like the 2 relevant options.

So, the programmer's just censored my comment on the top rated deck (where I was posting simply because it was the highest rated deck and would actually get reads), about how the gauntlet cheats. They are scared for you to know the truth, apparently, which seems weird, but apparently, true. The gauntlet cheats, obviously. Anyone smart, knows this.
No disrespect, but it definitely does in the sense that it doesn't just fairly draw seven random cards every game and play what it gets like the rest of us have to. Why else would it ALWAYS magically get exactly what it needs for every situation, no matter what you're playing ALWAYS following a successful gauntlet run through? It goes far beyond that, too, in fact. It's far beyond coincidence. I'm 100% sure it cheats, albeit in a very sneaky way.
Nice!
cant recommend any of these changes tho. flare kills little of relevance and also doesnt deal enough damage as burn. and katana is just a strictly worse longbarrel.
my current version simply has 4 pummel 0 rampage. thats all that changed.
Would you nowdays change anything to the deck? maybe proceed to make it a market using deck?
Also,im a fairly new player and currently trying to decide between crafting Praxis Tokens or Skycrag Aggro deck (can only afford one of them). Which one would you reccomend me to craft so that i can start climbing ranked ladder ASAP?
not much. just 4 pummel 0 rampage. pummel has just proven more efficient and helpful and rampage a bit too clunky and cute for brigand. Id prolly go with skycrag.
the nerf to time merchant hit tokens fairly hard and it is a bit more hit or miss based on whether u run into a sweeper or not but both are fine choices.
so id say go with what appeals to you more.

What sort of deck do you think has a positive winrate vs. this, and doesn't auto-lose to other decks? I'd imagine moolessi is decent, but if you stumble on influence skycrag can really punish you.
I am no expert but I have played a lot of Temporal recently. It's not quite unitless, and in fact the units - specifically Desert Marshal - is what saves it in that matchup. Permafrost, Marshals, Hailstorms, and Harsh Rule on 5 to clean out anything left. I think it's a fair matchup, maybe slightly tilted towards the control advantage, depending more on their configuration of spells than anything. If the control player is observant and notices a lot of Skycrag in their meta pocket they will likely add more Permas and Marshals and make the matchup more sided towards them.
Rakano is a fantastic matchup against Skycrag and wins it frequently. The problem is that it auto-loses to other decks.
Also I think Praxis Midrange does really solid against Skycrag. Merchant -> Titan is horrific.
Wait is there a huge difference in this deck compared to the list you had posted the deck tech & games played using that same deck? Or is this the same exact list, just posted on here as an official posting?
So the list I have prior to this being updated on the 14th is the same exact list that I have listed "SkyCrag Road to the Masters" on my Eternal Client, so I guess I was just right in assuming it was posted/updated on here to make it an official posting then?
I've played a lot of fire aggro decks over the years. I think this is the most dominant one I've ever played. Well designed, consistent and well positioned.
In fact, I was just able to finally achieve the Ten ranked wins in a row exclusively with this deck. Several of those games I flooded to 7 power and got there still thanks to how well this deck leverages Charge units and Berserk.
I've been ripping through Gold with this the last couple of days. It's just so punishing if the opponent makes even one wrong move or misses a single land drop. I hit a patch where I had gotten the opponent to less than 5, but couldn't finish the job. Probably takes some more practice (or topdecking a Torch at just the right point). Great deck! Looking forward to playing the Shimmerpack deck when I can finally craft four Teachers.
P.S. Any upgrades down the line for Felnscar Scream? Still enjoying that deck, and it even wins from time to time.
Cool. Some more practice might reduce that happening but aggro decks can be swingy so can eternal in general so this is normal. happens to me as well. gotta slog through the variance.
Good luck with that.
I really like the added versatility of Ixtun Merchant in this deck, but I can understand going the non-merchant route. I'm a little surprised to see zero copies of Shugo Standard in the list. I played a lot of Skycrag this month, and I seriously can't praise this card enough, it has stolen me so many games. It's totally worth the occasional slow start from tapped lands (depleted power). I would strongly recommend playing a couple copies, personally I play 2 main and a 3rd one in my market.
The problem is that makes u play a 3 power 3/3 which is pretty bad relative to what u want in an aggro deck. Standard is great in theory until u do the math for how likely u r to hit 5 power and when with a 25 power deck and realize u r mostly playing a depleted fire sigil which doesnt work with ur seats which is not remotely what u want in ur aggro deck. u might not be realizing how many games it cost or almost cost u having it in ur deck to make up for the few times it won u a game for being a tactic. The math simply isn't sound to runt he card as nice as it seems. stuff like this is best solved by objectively looking at the numbers rather than going by subjective feel and perception which is highly flawed and skewed. For what It's worth I think Jennev Merchant would likely be the better merchant also if I'd run a merchant in this.
This deck is bad in Diamond rank, which is filled with xenan lifelink and hooru hatebears. Depends on a really good starting hand, and even with so, you'll end up dying to a 4 hp left enemy who has 5+ creatures with more than 5 power on field.
I can emapthize. I hit some bad losing streaks in Diamond, to the point where I wasn't sure if I was going to keep playing the deck or not. Went to bed at Diamond I (had to climb out of Diamond II after losing a bunch of games in a row) with about 30 points. Logged in this morning and didn't lose at all. Hit Master in just under 30 minutes. Patience and persistence is key!
I am pretty sure that is not remotely representative, nor do I think hooru is a bad matchup to begin with. and not sure what hooru hatebears is supposed to be. Hatebears is a magic term referring to 2 mana 2/2 with hateful static abilities attached referring to actual grizzly bear which was a 2/2 for 2. Hooru neither plays 2/2s for 2 nor are there any units with hateful static abilities in the game really not does hooru even often play many 2 drops at all. If you mean regular hooru midrange stuff ill happily play against that all day long with skycrag. And sure xenan lfieforce is a nightmare for any aggro deck but it is also a horrible and unplayable deck. If u happen to face that a bunch u just got really unlucky that's all.
All in all maybe keep trying a bit more and make sure u r making the right plays so that is not causing ur opponent to survive at low life some of the time. Good luck!
This is a very well tuned list, great job Manu. I'm not positive Skycrag as a deck ever could be 100% optimal (I find myself enjoying an extra copy of pummel a lot), but this is absolutely the build to start with if one wants to jam some crag. I went from traditional merchant-based crag to this and jumped about 100 ranks due to the increased consistency.
Shout out to rockslides, which currently do real work if you hit certain pockets of the meta (like non-stop skycrag mirrors).
As I mentioned I have really liked Pummel and at some point ran a 3/ Split on Pummel and Rampage and can even see 4 Pummel since it performed really well at 1 power. But that also means u will have to drop the barrels since I think u need at least 2 Rampage for stuff like titans and the Berserk/brigand/big Warcry guy finishing blows. I think rockslide is really bad except u if u mainly play against tokens and the mirror where pummel gets a lot worse and rockslide goes way up :)
Yeah, I think everyone went a little too crazy with markets when FoA dropped. It's may never be correct for Skycraggro. Aggro like this is all about the extreme efficiency -- and the market, while powerful, is just too slow/reactionary here.
I started this month with a very similar list, but I wasn't having the success I was used to with Skycrag. I thought that with FoA, Skycrag might finally be on its way out. Glad to be proven wrong with just a few minor tweaks. I just ran this 6-0 to secure Masters for the month.
Brutally efficient deck! I have been playing this brew exclusively on Ladder the past 2 days with a record of 16-3. I started at the bottom of Gold 2 and just reached Diamond 3 with the last win. The early game is hard to match, especially if you have turn 1 Oni Ronin, turn 2 Dusk Raider...then by turn 4 you draw a 5/4 Champion of Fury with Berserk, most of my games were won in 5 turns or less. Games lost went beyond 8 turns. Dusk Raider and Censari Brigand are the two wild cards in this deck that really push it over the top. You don't always draw them, but when you do, in a timely fashion, they are "tempo-blasters". The nightfall card draw on Dusk Raider is a big bonus. Longbarrell can always be utilitized nicely, and the 4 pump fast-spells seem the right mixture....Somehow I met no Praxis Tokens or Time midrange on this run. I also met no mirror matches surprisingly. My last match was to a Skycrag Midrange deck though. One key tip...save your Permafrost for a flier like Unseen Commando or Crimson Firemaw.
Thanks for sharing, ManuS! I was getting frustrated stuck in Gold, and was looking for an aggro deck that would blast me through to Diamond, and this fit the bill perfectly. Looking forward to your next brew. Two of my most recent losses on Ladder were to TPS cirso's cleaver deck variants, which could be attributed to you as well.
Hey great to hear it is working so well for you. and yeah dodging time midrange helps a lot since that matchup is usually really rough and requires a fair share of luck to beat tokens however seemed pretty reasonable for the deck since the problem usually is titans and additional fatties where tokens as a bunch of shitty small dorks that match up poorly vs warcry buffs, tricks and quickdraw. and yeah dusk raider and brigand have been really shining int he deck and made me like skycrag aggro again.keep up the climb next deck tech is alrdy in the works ;)
PS: i dont think flyers matter really u want to safe ur permafrost for big guys in general that u otherwise wouldnt get through so sometimes taking a trade is better than losing to the fatty they drop the next turn.
What do you think about blue merchant over Vadius. For me the ultimate is only useful in 5% of games, making the primary advantages to weigh the versatility of jennev merchant and lower influence cost versus vadius's quickdraw. Having access to crystallize, permafrost, substitute (or just a copy of vadius if the quickdraw is relevant) seems a good plan.
I don't like it. The quickdraw on vadius does a lot with weapons, tricks and Warcry. But idk maybe it is good. feel free to give it a try. But i feel like u underestimate the power of quickdraw in the context of the deck. And in the market where he cant get warcried on vadius is pretty bad. While the ultimate doesnt happen that often it is not irrelevant can sometimes win long drawn outgames u otherwise have no business winning :)
But hyper aggressive linear aggro tends to do well in hese so u should be at least fine. I would look at Chunk Chunk in some number and maybe the new one drop yeti. Not sure how and over what but those seem like the 2 relevant options.

Nope. Deck is dead since levitate nerf imo.
