Since the balance changes, I noticed I hadn't seen any emergence of Blackhall Warleader, so I began to wonder what sort of deck she would fit in and that's how I came across my current iteration of Tavrod Winchest and my thoughts on it. The original is is by Magnarrot, I believe, though I made some of the edits that other iterations has used.
First off, this deck has been performing great. My only loss was a bit of a flood against an aggro deck, and even then I was close to stabilizing. 2nd, warleader works great in this deck, namely as a 2nd candidate for early warhelm plays. Before the buffs, even if you snuck a warleader in with a warhelm, it could still die to torch the next turn. Now, however, it immediately gets out of torches range after just one infiltration and soon becomes a must answer card.
Other thoughts are as follows:
Most decks use finest hour over elder's feather, but I found it never came in handy - unlike Hojan where renown is important and a quick spell like finest hour can be a 2-1 plus ramp, the rest of the cards would really prefer the permenant attack buff and evasion that feather provides.
I have yet to use or need smuggler stash - I like the idea and I'm going to leave it in for now, but so far my games end earlier than this card would be useful; it could just be the wrong meta for the card. Possible replacements could be Deepforged Plate or perhaps a stablizer like crownwatch tactic or bloodletter as without Hojan, there isn't as much lifesteal going on. Inquisitor's blade is another good one and Harsh Rule should never be counted out depending on the meta.
Vanquisher's blade is great against reanimator as they have trouble dealing with sub-3-attack units. If you're running into more of those decks, consider increasing the number.
Otherwise, I'm very very happy with this deck. Hope you enjoy it too!
Edit: Trying out Ijin's workshop instead of bore. Also trying out Bloodletter instead of Smuggler's stash. We'll see how it goes.
