Information

The Feln Screamzerk archetype got a lot of buffs from Into Shadow, so I decided to take advantage of them. Poaching Drake is run over Rindra, the Duskblade because it only has 1 less attack and its evasion is well worth it, especially in a meta where the ground is gummed up by efficient blockers. Also, its Summon effect can hit a lot of good targets, including Awakened Student, Teacher of Humility, Auralian Merchant, Dawnwalker, Kothon, Champion of Fury, Icaria Valkyrie Captain, and more. It just has a lot of utility and is easier on the influence than Rindra.

I do not run any Permafrost because it has anti-synergy with Vara. Maul is an excellent finisher that provides a lot of reach and stacks up very nicely with all the Nightfall triggers.

You can consider running Ripknife Assassin over Territorial Elf if Time fatties become an issue or if you are seeing a lot of tokens.

Ive been playing this deck a little and changed it a little, i started using the shadow merchant instead of this one with a market to suit. This means i can put vara in the market etc. I also didnt like maul and i think it still runs pretty well. The deck is pretty fun to play.

Is this deck actually good?
Zequinn Eternal Version: 1.39
Not really

One of the reasons Rindra is so effective is the life-steal, often putting you out of range of more aggressive decks. Plus, having 2 more health and he's out of Torch range as well. I've tried the Drake and he hasn't been more than Meh so far. They both fall to Vanquish so its a wash there. With Haunting Scream/Dark Return, Rindra often does have flying. However, it's the overwhelm that many times is more important, as there's still a lot of flyers out there in the world, and getting your damage through is key. I don't know, maybe Vara gives you enough sustain and I'll give this version a go, but Rindra always seemed pretty core.

I got Azindel down against this deck today. Managed to draw their Maul and kill them with it.=)

Maul sucks. In about 20 games with this deck, it only was useful ONCE. For the rest of the time it just lay useless in my hand or gor Marketed away. Consider leaving it just as a Market option. It's good in decks with many Nightfall triggers, but not in this one.
Gandalf Eternal Version: 1.39
Well, put in the appropriate Waystones if you like
Alison Eternal Version: 1.39
You can replace them with Permafrosts if you like.
BadBug Eternal Version: 1.39
Thanks for sharing, was this tested on the ladder?
Alison Eternal Version: 1.39
Yes. Got me from D3 to D1 halfway. Rakano Valks got me the rest of the way.
Werewolf Eternal Version: 1.39
I don't even care if this is good or not, the name is worth it alone
Solafide Eternal Version: 1.39
It’s not good
