So this is both my first deck I am posting to Warcry and my first really successful brew, please feel free to offer suggestions to improve the build.
A Little Background
Coming to eternal from Hearthstone has been a real awesome experience. I always felt so limited in that game and had no idea how to follow the meta nor build for arena very well. The game made me miss Magic: The Gathering and I have always been a huge fan of theme decks, especially tribal decks. Then I saw Kripp do his sponsored video for Eternal and immediately downloaded the game on my phone and steam. Now I watch LocoPojo, Teveron, ManuS, and other talented content creators.
So back to the deck. After Dead Reckoning was spoiled and Pojo talked about how he liked
Anointer of the Faithful and said something along the lines of " you could probably make a cool paladin themed deck" i set out to do just that, and this is what I came up with so far. The Deck has two main allstars
Anointer of the Faithful and
Oathbreaker.
Anointer is great on multiple levels:
- It is a 2 drop 1/3, so it is an early play and trades well with other standard 1 and 2 drops.
- It has lifesteal helping to stabilize against aggro.
- It give bond to a Paladin in your hand making it cheaper by at least 1.
- While on board it equips any subsequent Paladin with a 1/1 weapon which interacts with both
Brightmace Paladin and
Copperhall Paladin.
Oathbreaker is great as it interact well with 12 other units in the deck as well as herself making her a 5/5 with lifesteal on her first swing. I am a little worried that this may be a win more card but it has helped me win more than a few games.
Some other cards of Note
Hatecleaver- A nice 3/2 weapon that can help remove aegis units. With all the lifesteal this can easily get huge.
Bloodletter- A 4 of in this deck can help turn on your
Brightmace Paladin and trigger
Copperhall Paladin. Can be thrown on a
Champion of Vengeance in a pinch.
In Cold Blood- it is a 1 of and mainly here to deal with the flood of
Tavrod, Auric Broker decks i have been seeing on ladder lately.
Leave a Witness- another one of but in my opinion a better card for this deck then
Harsh Rule as you get to keep one of your units.
Replacements
There are a few cards in this list that could easily be replace wither with budget options or just better cards. In all reality
Crown of Authority and
Grinva, Judge of Battles could both be dropped for an extra
Leave a Witness.
If I was going to make this deck on a budget I would:
-Drop both
Crown of Authority for 2
Paladin Oathbook while a bit slower then crown it serves essentially the same purpose as a universal buff to your units.
-
Grinva, Judge of Battles is really only on this list originally as a target for Crown that is in the right colors. literally can be replaced by any other qualifying unit in Argenport. As for total replacement either
Order of the Spire or
Hero of the People are good choices.
-
Leave a Witness, a main sweeper can be replaced with a
Harsh Rule as sometimes it is better to clear the whole board then to hang onto your unit and still lose. Be sure to attack first before casting.
If you need to replace the entire upper end of this deck then I would add two Rules and two HotP.
Power base
Not much to say, fairly standard for an Argenport Deck I went with
Common Causeinstead of
Diplomatic Seal since every unit in the deck except one is a paladin. The waystones for the added bumps, and the crests for the Scrying.
Match Tips
I have found that the best way to play this deck is to try to maintain a good tempo by hitting your drops on time, however what is very nice about this deck is that even if you miss a drop or two the deck can still stabilize with all the Lifesteal. AotF can give your units a bit more value often allowing some of your smaller units a chance to trade up. More than one and even your smallest unit can net you big gains.
Aggro is going to have a hard time having any of their damage stick as long as you can get through with your Lifestealers. Be careful though as lifesteal only works if you net more then what you lose.
Control decks you are going to have a harder time dealing with them, your Aegis units and Hatecleavers may be your only way.
Combo is usually a slower deck type so you should have time to build up your pressure.
End
Welp that's all folks. I hope this deck list may inspire others to play around with Paladins some. Definitely want to hear what the community has to say. Leave a comment if you have a suggestion or tell us your w/l record with the deck. As always have fun and GG

Edit 7-16-18 so with the release of Fall of Argenport this deck has had a major overhaul. mostly added more consistency with
Cull the Deck and
Scheme, added more unit options with
Resolute Paladin, and swaped out Dark returns for
Finest Hour and
Surgeon's Saw. Removed all the clunky top end stuff and mad the deck more focused on Lifesteal and
Oathbreaker here's hoping for a little luck as most of my draws have been really bad in ranked lately. GGHF
After some tweaking I ended up with Horny Paladins:
-1 Dark return, -2 Scheme, -1 In Cold Blood, -1 Grinva, -2 Crown, -1 Leave a witness, -1 Emerald waystone, -2 Amethyst waystone
+3 Finest hour, +4 Tavrod, +1 Vara's favor, +3 Shadow sigil
Even so I will do some testing and see where the deck is at.
