The addition of
Bladesmash is really what makes this deck viable, so you don't fold to a T4
Sandstorm Titan as easily.
It's a rather straightforward deck to play.
1 drops, 2 drops, pump, burn, buff, win.
Gold-Plated Revolver is the reason this deck works, since 3 strength permanently for 1 power is a great deal, and the good Onis are all heroes anyway.
Let's take a look at some combos.
Akko, Inspired Artist T1 and
Gold-Plated Revolver, means attacking for 4 on turn 2, and becoming a 5/6, then completing the mastery next turn.
If for some reason, you manage to play another 1 drop on your 2nd turn, you can even bargain out
Press the Advantage.
I've won some games in casual with this.
Jishu, the Burning Brush and
Oni Quartermaster is a classic combo, letting every oni replace itself.
Oni Quartermaster is just too low powered to put in the main deck, and is not a hero, and realistically you never need more than one alive for a turn or two to get so much material to propel you to victory.
The rest of the deck is really filler to be honest.
Forgemark Scrivener is probably the best turn 2 play you have after his buff. There are no great 3 drop heroes,
Chizue, Silver Hilt is pretty embarrassing compared to
Oni Quartermaster.
The curve is pretty low, it is possible to win without drawing your third land, so mulligan accordingly.
The market is a WIP, if you have good suggestions please do shout out.
only 4 market access cards since you are not a control deck with lots of time to dick around, and the merchants are not Onis and are not Heroes.
Barbarian Guerillas is honestly my least picked card, but getting to blow up a
Deepforged Plate or a
Xenan Obelisk makes it a necessary evil.
Helena, Skyguide is a card that has been nerfed TWICE, but I think is still the best way to break a
Permafrost that costs 3, over
Wind Conjuring.
Pristine Light is there for 2 bosses, the 5 color, and the 5 influence one. Hard to win without.
One boss that can give you trouble is the decay boss, since you play a 1 drop, they respond with either a
Firemane Cub on the draw, or a
Tripwire Grenadin on the play and your life is ruined.
Other cards that were tested that I didn't like.
Kaleb's Persuader is GREAT with
Kyojun, Grand Shugo, but having to drop a 4 drop, have it live, then equip it is just too much to ask, and sometimes you don't even get to 4 power since there are only 25 lands in this deck, no inscribe, no seeks, no additional power of any sort.
Vanquish and the weapon
Vanquisher's Blade
were just dead cards sometimes.
Crownwatch Longsword is just not a playable card, and sometimes you don't even have the influence to play it.
You could put them in as one ofs to tutor with
Jishu, the Burning Brush, but why not get another
Gold-Plated Revolver instead? It's just better in every way.
edit: it goes without saying this deck has been extensively tested.
More than 30 7 win runs with this deck already.
