Information

I have been struggling to reach masters this month, every deck I tried (greed pile, praxis ramp, maul) were just getting wrecked on the ladder and i felt the greed pile and praxis ramp were a just to slow.

I was coming across of really aggresive stonescar decks and after seeing joey's post on warcry (https://eternalwarcry.com/decks/d/UD-9aApUs5I/stonescar-aggro-top-25-throne) I thought I would try his deck out.

I had some issues while piloting the orignal stoescar deck Joey posted, I was not happy with the power base, i felt the inclusions of crests and the high numbers of banners and seats meant that too much of your land was comming in depleated and as such really slowed the whole deck down.

I took joey's deck apart and re-built from the ground up yesterday and it took me from G1 to masters in a couple of hours.

I am not too sure on the market at the moment, I added the karvet and dizo's office for the late game in case they were needed, but I have never had to use them as generally the games are done pretty quickly.

I oculd definitely see some card changes being made to this so if anyone has any questions I will do my best to answer them.

I hope this can help

Went 21-0 on the first attempt at piloting this (with 2 minor changes to the market).
Seems like an okay deck, i guess

Great job! good luck reaching masters this month!
GrandTali Eternal Version: 1.47.8
Look buddy.... I gave this deck a chance.
I played 10 games and lost one. This is unacceptable! Delete it at once and don't come back unless you make a new one with 100% win rate! :p
Jokes aside, it is a great deck 9-1 is a ridiculous score. This is by far the best deck I have tried in along time!!! Thanks man!!! Keep it up!!!! :D

Hey GrandTali glad you have been liking this deck and a 90% win rate is impressive! (better than I have been doing), just out of curiosity did you use the original version that is posted above or did you make the changes that me and reflecting discussed below? I have been trying to decide if I should update the original list with these changes? good luck reaching masters this month

I have used the original version. And since it works fine, I am not going to change it! :)

congrats on masters, I've played against u yesterday with my rakano deck.
why 2 dark return maindeck? other than vara or champion of chaos there's really nothing worth to bring back. I would put a dark return into the market and add 1 bloodseeker and 1 urchin.
sibannac Eternal Version: 1.47.8
no you are right the dark returns are there only for vara or the champion and if I am honest mainly vara. They are not essential and I could see them being swapped. I found there were a few games where I really wanted vara's ability to deal with ageis and I found it was a little more reliable to return her from the void rather than wait to draw a new vara from the deck, in effect they let me run 6 copies of vara. One of the things this deck really struggles with is running out of gas and with no real draw, returning things from the void seemed like a safer option. I did also try a build with pyromage, which draws on onslaught but I prefered the dark returns, although I could see the value of swapping out either office or karvet for a dark return in the market and then main decking the pyromages?

In terms of bloodseeker, I am not sure how I feel about this card, before I added vara with the lifesteal this card lost me more games than it won me. and I have never seen the secondary pump abillity come into affect in all of the games I played and for these reasons I came to the conclusion that I generally don't want to see this in my opening hand, my turn 1 play on preference is always the oni.

Urchin is something I could definitely see increasing to 4, there were a few games, especially against the greed pile where the ability to play and steal a card from the top deck of an opp library pretty much won me the game, but similar to above with bloodseeker, this is something that I can only do turn 4 or later and such I don't really want to see it in my opening hand and would prefer to play the oni.

so I've played ur deck quiet a bit now. I went 11 wins 4 losses in diamond 2. pretty decent.

I made the following changes to the deck:

- I did cut 1 bloodseeker and added 1 more street urchin. reason: you were right, bloodseeker really can lose u games. especially against maul. I'm still thinking about replacing this card completely but I'm not too sure yet.

- I replaced karvet in the market with sabotage. reason: sabotage has been insane for me. I often lost to decks that play harshrule. with sabotage I have a way to stop them from harsh ruling my board which can be a game winner. Even if they don't hold harsh rule you'll very often get other essential cards that you can put straight into the graveyard.

- I changed flameblast in the market to obliterate. reason: personal preference. I like obliterate more.
sidenote: I've not used dizos office once yet. It can most likely be replaced with something more useful.

- currently thinking about replacing shugo standard and cabal tactic with sigils and/or shadow emblems. reason: honestly none of these cards have given me any value. most of the time they are just undepleted power that make my gameplay slower and that's not what we want.

overall you did a very good job with this deck.
sibannac Eternal Version: 1.47.8
Hey Reflecting,

I am glad the deck was working out for you. I like your suggestion about sabotage, i had removed that from the orignal list for the karvet and and office but in hindsight sabotage would be much better than either of these.

I could see removing the standards for normal sigils, I added them more because I thought it would be good to have a little more interaction just to make attacks a little more favorable for us, but mostly, you are right, the number of games where they really mattered was very small and if you feel they were slowing your game down overall they could be easily swapped.
good luck reaching masters!

got to masters with the slightly updated list now. thanks.
sibannac Eternal Version: 1.47.8
Congratulations on reaching masters! it made me really happy to hear this.

Just in case you are going to try and grind for a top 100 finish, I swapped out the karvet for sabotage as we discussed and I swapped out dizo's office for big vara. This has been an intersting addition to the late game if necessary, allowing us to bring back things like bandit queen, champion or little vara!
