The goal of the deck is to slowly grind down your opponent through recurring creatures that can be sacrificed into shifted legendaries with powerful effects or whatever unit best suits the situation. Even better is to do this with one of the opponent's unit through madness.
Notable combo's and nombo's
Pristine Light/with onslaught and revenge units: If they die and are back in your deck, you don't get them back. Obvious right? Well, mistakes happen.
Madness and Pristine Light is good if you pick the right unit to steal, be sure to attack.
Vara that is shifted forces the opponent to sac a unit, I don't believe that this is a bug. This can be an effective tactic, but generally fairly rare play on my part.
Crownwatch Paladin and Vara don't play well together, but everyone knows that.
Remembrance is in here mostly for the 1 cost market access, restarting the fanatic, Ghar, Vishni, or enforcer effects all may be handy given the situation.
a 3+drop Reweave into the fanatic will net you a card each turn til it transforms, plus 2 each time it attacks. It is a sweeper magnet though, so act accordingly. Hooru control has to spend two cards to kill it, or cast an early sweeper (or big blockers). If possible, play reinforcements after it comes down, locking out opponents kill spells and sweepers.
I think of the deck as a toolbox deck, with a lot of answers either with the units, or the market.
Market choices:
Gavel: Good against evenhanded decks (most run shadow), other recursion decks.
Burglarize: Probably grab the least often, but it's there when it is needed.
Primal Light: Great card.
Maladiction: Newest addition to the market, I found a need for having something easy to access that would address the go wide aggro decks. Hopefully, the lifegain from the units will keep you alive long enough to cast it.
Reinforcements: Shutdown control decks for a few turns, great play if you feel their sweeper is coming next turn. Can get some big units popping out in short order.
Other market cards i've tried are
Avigraft, and
Unspeakable Torment. Due to the lifegain in the deck, it's possible to be at like 35 life and the opponent at ten. I got some wins off of torment, but it's mostly too cute.
For how viable it is, I've past gold with this deck and am currently in diamond II. Anyway, try it out and have fun, and let me know if you think there are ways to improve it!
