Spiteful Strike is really really good in tempo decks. If you're playing tempo/aggro with sahdow in gauntlet and not using this card, your doing something wrong. Try using it more instead of Sear/Torch/Suffocate/Finest Hour and thank me later.

Alternatives that I can think of:
Buh-ton, Death's Reach instead of Bandit Queen
Jekk, Mercenary Hunter in the market instead of Kaleb's Persuader/Wyatt's Junkyard
