Information

This is the updated version of my FTP Mother token deck that got me into top 20 last month. I played the old version through gold before the recent nerfs (19:4) and this version from diamond 3 to master (23:4, entered at rank 19) after the nerfs. The general gameplan mostly stays the same (for a readup: https://eternalwarcry.com/decks/d/srxv711j80o/ftp-motherly-burden-top-20), but there are a few changes in the deck and in the meta.
New cards added are: 2 From Elements, 3 East Annex Smugglers and 1 Turn to Seed (and a small change in the powerbase). Removed were all 4 Wisdom of the Elders and 2 Katos. Wisdom felt a bit to slow because the meta became more aggressive and the deck usually wants to start playing units from turn 2 or 3 onwards, and Helio and Cylixes are the better card draw later on. Kato is fine, but the fire influence is relatively low, so playing him on turn 2 can be diificult and getting to 12 units in the void takes a lot of time in this deck. From Elements was mostly added because of the flexibillity. It can help against aggressive fire decks (which I saw a lot more of), but also against slower decks after it transforms. Smuggler is a great addition that triggers Mother, provides a reasonable body that can be aggressive or defensive and that fixes your hand. The third turn to Seed should help with big units in the midgame, because the deck sometimes had problems with those.
The market also changed, because Smuggler allows for cards that dont cost 5. I removed Albon, Savage Incursion and Linreis Stranger for Shatterglass Mage, Edge of Uprising and Nahids Distillation. I am not sure about the last 2 yet, but they were both helpful in some games. Mage is worse than Linrei if you just play her on turn 5, but she provides another attachment destruction effect, which can be very important in some matchups, and triggers Mother.
Good luck and have fun!

BHV Eternal Version: 20.08.10
Had a game with this deck where I increased my opponent's Severin to 9 cost and he couldn't get to cast it (sorry Maneiro). Works pretty good for ladder. Nice list!

Climbing d1 now. So much fun. Play this list if you want a list that can beat anything on the ladder right now and with style. It takes some getting used to, don't give up !

this is a fun one, thx!

Hi! What has your experience running Pesky Seedling been like - is it mostly there to eat Fire Aggro, or is there another purpose? I’ve played it in some other midrange decks, but found it to be kind of underwhelming against Backbreaker (and obviously control.) Thanks!
LordPerth Eternal Version: 20.08.10
Seedling is good against more aggressive decks, but also against some midrange decks (kills Wump, small flyers, and bigger units in combination with Maveloft). The cost manipulation is a nice upside too, because it can delay some threats for a turn, sometimes even cancel a whole turn. But the main reason for the card is that I wanted more single faction killer units for Grodovs Burden, and Seedling was the second best option after Maveloft (especially because you can put the exalted weapon on the shade).

Any consideration for a multifaction 3 drop like Strange Gladiator or Sorcerer? Killer chains seem *real* strong with Burden, but that's a 1 of in a market, and seems kind of like a pipe dream.
LordPerth Eternal Version: 20.08.10
You can try Strange Gladiator (Sorcerer is only good if you draw him with exactly Mother), but I think Id still prefer Seedling, Burden gets played in a lot of games and the 5th to 8th killer units are really important in those games to get the advantage rolling. But like I said, Seedling is great even outside of Burden, especially against aggro decks.
