Aggro decks are just destroying me...am I getting bad draws or is this a weakness of the deck or maybe I just suck? I saw where someone said this deck has a good match against cultists but they're kicking my ass.
The matchup against cultists is good, something like 70-30 (I was 17-8 vs. cultists in the quals + top 64). A typical strategy is to make sure your aegis units survive (don't trade in combat) and build a nasty, flying threat. Look for exalted, killer combos -- cultists give you time to use them.
The deck isn't great against aggro. I didn't play much against aggro in quals and not at all in the top 64. In that sense, the deck was a meta choice. Ghostblade giving lifesteal was huge against aggro matchups I won. To tune against aggro, I would guess that Blitrok and an Aniyah or two should be replaced with more finest hours and permafrosts.
First of all, thank you very much for this deck. It has gotten me to the brink of masters in a month where I had a hard time advancing in Expedition.
Second, I've made one change - I substituted Inquisitor's Blade for Clutch of Talons, and put the Clutch in the market. I did this after the adventures were added to Expedition. Would you make any other changes?
I love this deck, but do have one question. What is the Jarral's Frostkin specifically for. It seems to be an odd inclusion. I have been doing well with this deck even in the low gold ranks. It seems to do really well against everything.
I definitely faced this deck a few weeks back, and had just stabilized when frostkin put the game away. Even now that this deck has people's attention, Frostkin still comes as quite the surprise and is extraordinarily effective! Given this knowledge, I was much more surprised that there is only one than that there were any, but I guess it makes sense if the plan is to tutor for it
Frostkin is fetchable with loyalist + 4-cost weapon. That combo can win races vs aggro decks or just be used to get easy lethal. Honestly, the Blitrok is probably more out of place than frosty.
Congrats on going deep with this deck! It was refreshing to watch something other than cultist in the brackets. Just a tremendous job on putting together something more unique and carrying it as far as you did! :)
This deck is great to play and it's wrecking right now. Looping with Daring Gryffyn and Loyalist is the most fun I've had in Eternal for a bit. Congratulations on your finish.
