After enough losing with
Cheering Section and
Azurite Prixis, I left the deck for better expeditions. Little did I know that a game against DuncanRen would introduce me to not only a solid card for the deck, but completely take the deck to the next level.
Yep.
Means to an End makes Cheering Cultists into a combo deck, and a strong one at that.
(specific credit for Means to an End in Cultists goes to LocoPojo's Cultist Cookout deck)
The deck wins through several avenues. Here are a few:
Cheering Section +
Azurite Prixis +
Profane Nexus = massive burn, aided by
Xenan Fanatic
Zhen-Zhu, Hand of Nahid +
Means to an End + Xenan Fanatic = massive burn/deckout win with Means, aided by Prixis
Cheering Section + Zhen-Zhu, Hand of Nahid +
Means to an End +
Profane Nexus = massive burn, aided by Prixis or Fanatic
So as you can see, a lot of the pieces overlap, and there are more combinations that work too. Basically, if you find these cards together, you can find a win somewhere.
Profane Nexus is perfect in this deck. It's a win condition, removal, and card advantage. It's incredible in the deck.
Vara in the market is absolutely crucial against heavy removal, it can win games by chaining Faceless Ones.
Deck is very fun and quite good, a solid recommendation.
If you have a Smuggler, try to stabilize until you can set up a Malediction.
If you can race to a combo setup then its sometimes worth it to gamble.
Don't block needlessly because you need the board presence for Nexus and the sacrifice cards. As a rule either trade off units or block + Devour/Worthy Cause to get as much mileage out of your units.
And it's INCREDIBLE!
