This is the deck that I piloted to 18-10 in the Winter Crown ECQ... I didn't quite make the cut at 77 but still quite an excellent result. Also, it's the deck I ran to Masters this month.
The basic premise of this deck came from the fact that I really enjoyed Knifebloom's Discard Hooru Pledge deck, but I wondered if I could get away with splashing Fire so I could include Vargo. That's it; Vargo is a big, mean bear. Well, and also I never found the Loyalist to be very good in Knifebloom's deck, so I got to trade a bad card for a good card.
I'll save you the trouble of comparing the lists. Except for power, I took out 4 Loyalists, put in 4 Vargos and split Icaria with Iceberg Shineefinder. So there are only 6 Fire cards in the deck and they all have pledge. (Shineefinder is cheap pledge, so it can be played out sometimes rather than having a dead card because of a lack of Fire influence.) I really wanted to keep Fire to the absolute minimum because ramping to Martyr's Chains is still the game plan.
