Chakasulu Eternal Version: 1.42.3
I've been doing well on ladder with this, but the one card I don't know when to use is Maul. Was that purely just a tourney meta call, or did you end up always picking the other four market cards over it like I do.
SecondBlue Eternal Version: 1.42.3
Maul was mostly for the tournament. I mostly play other market cards such as crystallize, unseal, rindra's choice or unstable form.
SecondBlue Eternal Version: 1.42
Jennev merchant just nerfed to 2/2. They smacked me with the nerf hammer again lol.
ljschoppert Edited Eternal Version: 1.42.2
Every primal aggro deck dying for Kaleb's sins.
How bad do you think the nerf hurts this deck?
SecondBlue Eternal Version: 1.42.2
I think it's enough to make me look for other decks to play. It's a shame and I may be over reacting but this nerf undeniably makes the deck worse.
stageerlee42 Eternal Version: 1.42
Thanks for the great list! Any suggestion for a decent replacement for shakedown?
SecondBlue Eternal Version: 1.42
Quite a few different options for this deck. The 4th Annihilate, acquisitive crow, rindra's choice, unstable form, sabotage, savage denial, pitfall trap and devour can all work. One thing to take note of though is that this use to be a 27 power deck before shakedown was released and without shakedown helping you out of power screw you might want to go back to 27 power without shakedown.
stageerlee42 Eternal Version: 1.42
Thanks so much for the detailed response. I’ve been having decent succcess running 2 piercing grief. Would you advise against that?
SecondBlue Eternal Version: 1.42
Piercing grief can definitely work in an aggro/control meta so right now that's a great idea. Obviously it's not as good vs midrange decks but for this meta I like your suggestion.
toughluck Eternal Version: 1.42
went 6-1 to masters :) thanks for this great list!

Congratz on the win!

While watching the stream I was already wondering, why the Aviasaur? It's the only card in the list where I couldn't really figure out why it's included. Just because it's a decent flier that triggers nightfall? Why not e.g. an Acquisitive Crow that (aside from the meme ability) is a 2/2 flier with Berserk and would fit the style of the deck?
SecondBlue Eternal Version: 1.42
It really is just for the nightfall. The deck is just much more consistent with nightfall drawing more cards and also keeping your lethrai darkstalker active. I think crow as a card is stronger but this is a combo deck and drawing more to get all the combo parts is very important to the consistency of the deck. You wouldn't be wrong to play crow in this deck though, thanks for the question.
SecondBlue Eternal Version: 1.42
Thanks for the kind words and support everyone :) Hope you're all enjoying set 5! I'll be a good boy and play set 5 decks from now on.

Anyway about this deck. It served me well in the temporal era and it's doing good against peak decks aswell. The matchup vs peak is not as one sided as it was against temporal but on the plus side peak is so strong that it has pushed many of this decks counters out of competitive play.

Maul in the market is a meta choice but you can play crystalize or unseal or mirror image in its place if you want to. The flex slots are the 2 suffocate and the 2 shakedown but I would consider everything else a stable core build of the deck. If you can't currently afford rindra at least try to make 1 for the market and then replace the ones in the main with acquisitive crow or perhaps skycrag scale breakers if you want to try something new. The deck definitely has a learning curve and is not forgiving but it will reward you. When I played this exclusively on ladder a few months ago I stayed in top 10 for the whole month farming control players and it seems like we are in a control meta so go get em boys :)

I love the power that set 5 added to this deck!!
