I used this deck to get back to top 20 master after losing some ranks to other experiments, currently I am around 40:18. The deck is a relative standard midrange deck that tries to control the board early and to finish the opponent of at about turn 8-10. The early game mostly consists of small removal spells, reactive units (
Blightmoth) and influence/power fixing. At around turn 3 ( if you have
Marionette Cross and nothing that must be removed on your opponents field) or 4 you want to start to play on the board, optimaly with
Eremot, Mindsplinter, but
Silverblade Menace can be good enough on 4 too.
Against more aggressive decks I usually try to play like a control deck and to use flexible cards like
Damara, Deft Saboteur or
Display of Ambition in a more defensive way.
Milos, Rebel Bomber is a good counter to this deck and he has to be removed as fast as possible, but alway keep in mind that
Silverblade Menace,
Feartracker,
Condemn and
Vara's Favor all buff him (which sometimes can be an advantage to get Milos to 5 health, because you can kill him with Display then).
Against slower decks cards like Damara and Display are usually used in a more value orieted way, which means that you try to keep Damara until turn 4 or 5 and to drop her when you are sure that you can get her ultimate of and to only use Diplay as removal if its absolut necessary. Your wincondition against control is Burn most of the times. Eremot can make their life really miserable if you can get a attack through around turn 5 and Feartracker and Menace can deal a lot of damage and can be regained with Display later.
I am still a bit uncertain about the market, sometimes I would really like to have
Combust over
Open Contract, but both are fine.
Headhunter was the last card I choose for the market, but he really surprised me and works well in may situations. I am also not sure if you still need
Adjudicator's Gavel after the FTS nerf, if you dont think you need it you can replace it with an
Edict of Makkar.
Good luck and have fun!
- Why are you playing Devouring Shadow instead of Slay? Slay seems to be strictly superior
- Aren't four Displays too much? Don't you find them sitting in your hand without much use most of the time?
- In a three-color deck, is Icaria a reliable card to play on curve? Did you try for instance Karvet? He's specially nice with that 3/5 cultist that costs 4 and gets the battle skills of enemy units.
