I made this deck after checking out LightsOutAce's Elf Scream. I tried his version out, but the sacrifice package wasn't working for me as well. I feel like Ashara, Ruthless Assassin is better in a Stonescar or Xenan deck with lots of tokens to better take advantage of her effect. This isn't a dig at him, but I decided to make an elf tribal deck that didn't rely so much on Madness.
What this deck can do is disgusting. Haunting Scream is delicious, but even more so with a Dark Return or a Mirror Image ready. Use Skystrider to fetch either one, and go to town, screaming gorgons and cloning them for insane card draw, or double Beastcaller for 4 5/5's. Torgov naturally loots when he hits, and he gets massive both from his own effect and thanks to Skystrider's milling. Champion of Cunning is a massive boon here and, unlike Feln Control, we're happy to get his Shadow effect first since Skystrider provides flying. An excellent way to get lethal is to have 3/4 elves on the board along with Skystrider, hopefully buffed thanks to ChaCu, and a+space.
Here I'll explain more about how the deck works and my card choices. In removing the sac enablers, I came across a removal package that I feel works better for me:
-4 Madness
-4 Ashara
-4 Devour
+3 Annihilate
+2 Polymorph
When added to a deck running 4 permafrosts, the Kabal can now pound back against annoying midrange decks like Praxis/Elysian and AP mid, Permafrosting Commando and Behemoth, Annihilating Sandstorm Titan, and Polymorphing Tavrod and Makto. A bonus to this removal package is that it's relatively cheap and can be fetched by Skystrider with the exception of Permafrost, which is a curse.
I added 4 Mirror Images for the combos I listed above. It provides a way to capitalize on Haunted Scream, as the copy won't be sacrificed at the end of your turn. Double Gorgon means an instant hand reload, double Beastcaller means an instant frontline of 4 5/5's, and double Torgov means looting 2 cards, 14 damage for your opponent, and a 7/8 flying merchant for your troubles. In a pinch, you can clone Skystrider to grab a spell and mill cards for Torgov. What's more annoying that one ChaCu for control decks? Two ChaCus! The possibilities are endless with this card.
Lethrai Ranger is perhaps the weakest deck tech in here, but she's been able to pull off some great surprise plays. Her synergy with Skystrider and the danger of her buff going off is enough to keep her tentatively here, as she can grow quite a lot when screamed and then brought back.
I hope you guys like this deck! Let me know what cards you'd use, or how the deck goes for you in your games!
