Hello, this is my take on a tokens deck for gauntlet.
It is really trying to go wide. Featuring all stars such as
Tend the Flock
To understand this deck, just think of it in 2 simple categories:
Enablers, and Payoffs.
Enablers include
Grenadin Drone,
Tend the Flock,
Assembly Line,
Mobilization,
Kato, Arena Herald
They are mainly there to provide as many bodies as possible in one card.
Payoffs are everything else
Kindling Carver for card draw, making 1 token (half a card) into a full card.
Edge of Uprising as a cheap relic weapon, it is possible to play this on turn 3, after a
Grenadin Drone into
Tend the Flock.
Shared Vision for actual card draw, and tempo (you play the card for free), and Destiny is just a really good mechanic.
Steam Blast as scalable removal, it is possible to dome someone from 25 to 0 with 2 of these and a Jarrall
Generally good cards
Jarrall Ascending is just a good card, and has 1 power in the early game for
Edge of Uprising
Primal Etchings because you don't want to get power screwed, the curve tops out at 3
Jennev Merchant because merchant.
Synergies to note:
you can play out your hand, have a
Kindling Carver in play, play an
Edge of Uprising for 0 power, then sac a sheep, draw a card, hit with your relic weapon, draw a new card, then discard the card drawn off your sacrifice. This lets you keep the card even after the turn ends.
Similarly, you can play
Shared Vision, sac a unit with
Kindling Carver, then the card is played for free automatically, bypassing the tempo loss from paying 3 and doing nothing.
Jarrall Ascending + 8 primal influence + spells = turbo
The Throne Room
Edge of Uprising +
Steam Blast + 4 fire influence = Loot 2
Don't be afraid to suicide tokens in, to get your throne room online.
Daraka, Queensguard can generally be counted on to stablize you. It's not difficult to get to
Eilyn, the Rising Storm either
Nonbo:
Shared Vision and
Jarrall Ascending, if the card is NOT a spell, it just goes into your void for no value.
I think this deck does well in gauntlet, and was constructed with the boss fights in mind.
You've got lots of chump blockers, and lots of tokens to gum up the ground for the charge/double damage fight
you've got a decent chunk of units for the Labyrinth treasury, and Possibilities fight
lots of spells for the spell fight, you can really outvalue them.
You've got 2 (3 if counting market) ways to take advantage of the influence matters boss
Burn scars and the sibling rivalry are generally easy, as I see them as weaker versions of the aggro bosses, and the 5 influence bosses respectively, and with a mainly primal manabase with 4 symbols, you are going to get the probably best Scion on turn 4 or 5 pretty reliably.
I don't really know the lower tier bosses, but these are the ones I usually see.
It's a bit pricey shiftstone wise, but the cards are generally playable in throne, and most of the legendaries are from campaigns which are gold gated rather than shiftstone gated.
Please give any comments or suggestions for improvement.
Some possible substitutions for budget reasons were included in the comments.
Thanks for the reply. Glad you like it
I also changed some cards around a bit and found a cheap way to make it more budget and still playable.
I swapped Kato for Cheerful Shepherd - basicly the same effect, a 2 for one, just that it doesn't have that much late game value
also i swapped Shared Vision for Plunder - exhaust 1 unit and get 2 treasuer chests. Yes it's not exactly the same, as you wont get a destiny card, but it's still worthy due to the card advantage it gives you. Also it is 3 Specials to be playable in interaction with Jarrell
Keep up the good work!
These are great budget substitutions!
Btw, the market flying relic is really important imo. Especially to chump block in some fliers matchups
